Both CameraPro (https://www.camerapro.com.au/4468-sony-fe-70-200mm-f-2-8-gm-…) and Digital Camera Warehouse are selling this lens at discount while stocks last. Digital Camera Warehouse shows "extra 2 years warranty for free".
Generally retails north of $2699 digiDirect or higher elsewhere.
This is the generation one lens and performs excellent and is inexpensive for a first party fast zoom mirrorless lens when compared to Nikon Z and Canon RF versions (though the latter has a unique compact form factor).
A comparison with the successor (and more expensive) generation two lens can be found here: https://www.dpreview.com/articles/9161786669/a-closer-look-a…

I have owned one for five years paired with Sony A7, A7ii and A7iii and have used it at airshows, wildlife and portraiture photography with no issues.
Not sure I would agree with the performance and cost of this. If you don't need to go to 200mm, the Tamron 70-180mm 2.8 arguable performs better, is much smaller/lighter and is much cheaper.
