Belong Are Introducing Voicemail Alongside Message2Text

Great news, Belong are introducing voicemail to their service.

Voicemail overview:
Automatically available to Belong mobile customers who activate a new service from 20th of July 2022.

Will be available to existing Belong mobile customers between the 20th of July 2022 and 31st of August. You’ll know it’s switched on when you get your first SMS saying you’ve received a voicemail message.

This service will be automatically switched on.
For existing Belong mobile customers Message2Text will be switched off. If you wish to continue using the Message2Txt service, you can do so by logging into your My mobile account via the Belong website.

Belong offers good deals now. Can 2 people in the same house share data?

    • +1

Yes - Belong customers can transfer data to each other in at least 1GB increments.

    • You can turn on the hotspot on your phone, or gift each other data whenever you want (in 1GB increments).

I am honestly stunned that they are doing this.

Usually, customer service standards only get worse over time, and I was expecting other Telcos to also ditch voice mail.

It's a real surprise that it's Belong who are changing.

    Not on my service yet.

    Thanks for info faux

  • What is Message2Txt. again ??

If you're on Belong currently, then there's no ability for you to listen to recorded voice mails.

Instead, a caller's voice mail recording is automatically converted to text, and then you only get the speech-to-text conversion and there's no voice mail number, that could call to listen to the original.

Usually, this "feature" results in you getting an incomprehensible text message or just a text message saying that the "caller left a voice mail but it couldn't be successfully converted to text".

It's incredibly annoying and I left Belong after this happened to me numerous times.

Belong are finally catching up with the 1990s

I’ll still keep it off. I had a job once where they never sent emails through, they loved leaving the garbled voice messages and no contact number 🤦‍♂️

  • Wow it's only been about 4 years since they announced they were implementing voicemail.
Anyone involved with this belong in Centrelink.
