UHD 75" TV around $2000

Hi,

I'm looking for a new 75" UHD TV, mainly for streaming/watching movies/shows, little bit of live sports, and no gaming. Need it to have Vesa for wall-mounting. Budget is under/around $2000.

Looking at TGG website, I've narrowed it down to these models (some 2022 ones):

  • LG 75" UP8000 4K UHD Smart TV: $1495.00

  • LG 75" UQ90 4K LED Smart TV 2022: $1695.00

  • Samsung 75" BU8000 4K LED Smart TV 2022: $1695.00

  • Samsung 75" Q60A 4K UHD QLED Smart TV: $1895.00

  • LG 75" NANO75 4K UHD Smart TV: $1995.00

Please recommend the best of the lot, or any other model.

Thanks!

Solid choices the lot. If I had to pick one, I'd pick "Samsung 75" Q60A 4K UHD QLED Smart TV: $1895.00" It's just as good as the Q60B but $500 cheaper.

The "LG 75" NANO75 4K UHD Smart TV: $1995.00" would be my next pick.

    • Thanks skid! It's my first choice too. I hope its QLED display won't be too bad compared to an OLED? Hard to find a 75" OLED under $2k.

It should perform better in a bright room, and worse in a dim room.

Buy what you can afford, really. Don't worry about if it's the best.

        • The room is usually dim during evening TV time.

          I'll stick to the budget.

Can't comment on the various models, but have you considered an Android TV (eg Sony)

Having had a Sony for the past 2 years (and a Samsung as well) I would never buy another TV with a propriety OS

I would skip all of them and get the TCL C727. Android OS, QLED and FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) for better picture quality in HDR scenes than any of those TVs listed.

Things may have changed, but my ~2 year old TCL with Chromecast built in cannot be updated. Ended up just buying a separate Chromecast for it.

I was thinking of making a similar post this evening as I’m in the market for a new 75” tv around the same budget. Way too many options to choose from.

So I’m gonna piggyback on this post and see what others think.
Also is it worth buying now or waiting till Black Friday?

If it's a 2021 model, buy now. It's your last chance.

If it's a 2022 model, wait for Black Friday.

  • I'd always go with the basic Samsung model. It's diminishing returns from there as you move up in price. This approach has served me well. Last Samsung lasted 7 years. Had brilliant colour, sharp, 1080p. Current one still going strong after 3 years. Great colour and contrast, 4K, smooth motion, smart TV. Never found a single thing to complain about, even after seeing more expensive models.

the LG 75 NANO for 1699, perhaps you can price match it with good guys

  • What'd you end up deciding on?

  • What did you end up getting?
