Audio Technica Turntable LP120XUSB $420 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

110

I am looking for a turntable that plays 78rpm records, as well as playing 33 and 45rpms and came across this one. This one is fully manual operation turntable, that has an USB output that allows you digitise your old 78rpm records. It has built in preamp that allows you to connect to other speakers and soundbar.

All other specs look good to me, but I haven’t got much experience with turntables.

It is sold for much higher prices in other places $699 at JbHifi https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/audio-technica-lp120xusb-…

Please note this requires TGG commercial membership.

  • How the hell can I buy from good guys commercial? I can't seem to be able to create a user.

    • In one of the old ozbargain post last year someone posted a Suncorp promotion which was allowing Suncorp members (free to open account) to get TGGC membership. That’s how I did

  • And I guess jb won't price match

  • So the preamp will enable me to plug in passive speakers?

No. You'll still need an amp or active speakers. You just don't have to have an amp with a phono input.

You just don't have to have an amp with a phono input.

In other words, your amp does not require a separate phono input.

        Thanks a lot

    • That’s what is said about this TT

But in addition to the USB output, the turntable also comes with a detachable dual RCA output cable and is equipped with a built-in selectable phono preamp so you can connect directly to your home stereo, whether it has a dedicated phono input or not.

If you can, shell out the extra money and get the lp1240. But $420 for this new is a great price. I can make up a short guide on calibrating it once it arrives, if anybody is interested

    • This one looks good but almost double price
