If you're doing anything dough related then yes, if you're just using a normal hand mixer with the egg beater style attachments to mix dry and wet ingredients for cakes etc. then no not really. (source: I have one, use it all the time for bread)
They are great for doing things that are either really thick or need a long mixing time.
I don't know much about mixers but these seem way underpowered compared to similarly priced Kenwoods.
I think the difference is these are direct drive USA made units. Higher quality, more durable and will make better use of the available power. Still if power is all you want, maybe a Kenwood is better

100% this. Direct drive vs belt pulley transmission. Watts aren't all the same either.
KitchenAid are much higher quality machines and will last a lot longer.
