Hi, does anyone know if upgrading Google Pay to Google Wallet will void the 2% cashback on HSBC?
Thanks.
Hi, does anyone know if upgrading Google Pay to Google Wallet will void the 2% cashback on HSBC?
Thanks.
Why do you think it would?
No, it doesnt…
Hiver preferred.
Hiver doesn't give cashback on everything. I use Hiver and then HSBC for everything else.
Just another example of Google throwing names and products against a wall and seeing what sticks and abandoning to the trashcan those that don't, despite hundreds of thousands of people using and relying on them.
This time it's different, Google Wallet actually rose from the dead after it was killed in 2015 (I think?)
But yeah there are about 267 corpses in the graveyard. We're still quite salty about the loss of G Suite (Legacy Free Edition).
Yep, I'm still salty about G suite (legacy free), they could have at least grandfathered it.
I've only ever used Google pay/wallet with my HSBC card and the 2% cashback (under $100) always works. It's good for offsetting those credit card surcharges in shops.
I used Google Pay from the moment I got my card and don't even know where I've placed the HSBC card.
Google Wallet is just a re-skin / rebrand of Google Pay, there's no change to the underlying tech — it's still contactless payment.
