Good price for a decent device.

This is essentially the same as the Honour Band 6/Huawei Band 6, except 2g lighter in weight. If you can find those cheaper then pick those up.

Is the weight the only difference? I use a Watch Fit, and am happy with it, although it's not as sensitive to steps as my retired Fitbit Charge 3.

No real plans on upgrading at present. In a year or so, my Dad will want something new, so I'll get his hand-me-down GT2e watch I bought him for xmas last year.

      • Yes it is. Nothing else. Huawei Band 6 had more workouts, but the honor band 7 got a firmware update to match it.

Seems silly. Maybe there's a bunch of stuff that's different under the hood. Better accuracy due to improved tech, and that sort of thing.

Mind you, it wouldn't surprise me if they are the same, and this is an attempt to encourage people to upgrade …

          • @photonbuddy: It does seem silly but dimensions are the same on their website etc and nothing but the weight was mentioned.

As you said, it also wouldn't surprise because when you think about it, the cheap fitness tracker has become even more crowed in the last year. Xiaomi already had theirs, now Poco watch, I'm sure there's a Realme Oppo so on and so forth in there and amazfit. Would make sense to save development costs this go around

True. I guess the thing is, this brand has all but vanished from retail in Australia, so the type of person buying this is likely the type who is doing research before buying, and doing stuff like this is a real turn-off.

              • @photonbuddy: Dunno, depends on the person. Doing research for me has always paid off, I've imported Xiaomi phones since 2016 as my daily driver, honor bands , Xiaomi bands, Edifier TWS earbuds, xiaomi laptop. Saved thousands in the process I'm sure.

But yeah it's not for everyone. But it's still far cheaper than local retail here.
