12-Month Telstra Recharge Options

Is there any way to get a recharge deal of under $300 other than porting out and buying a sim starter kit?

You could use discounted gift cards at Telstra recharge resellers, although the savings probably won't be huge.

    • You can use discounted Coles gift cards (other than Coles Groceries gift cards) to pay for Telstra recharge vouchers at Coles. You can do this at self checkouts and you can use as many gift cards as you want. The purchase of Telstra vouchers also earns standard Flybuys points and counts towards bonus Flybuys points offers you may have on your account (e.g. earn 10,000 bonus points when you spend $270 or more in one transaction).

    • I don't it is possible to use discounted Woolworths Group gift cards to purchase Telstra recharge vouchers at Woolworths. It is something I have never tested, since you cannot earn Everyday Rewards points on the purchase of recharge vouchers.

    • I've heard that JB Hi-Fi sells Telstra recharge vouchers at their checkouts in their stores, although it is something I have not actually verified. If this is true, you should be able to use JB Hi-Fi gift cards, TCN gift cards or Ultimate gift cards as payment methods. I mention the latter two, as those are sometimes sold with bonus rewards points at Coles, Woolworths or BIG W, or even sold at a 10% or 15% discount at Coles or Woolworths.

    • If you ever get your hands on discounted prepaid gift cards (e.g. Coles Mastercard gift cards, Special Super Shopper gift cards), those can be used as payment methods at the aforementioned resellers.

    • I'm not sure if other major retailers sell Telstra recharge vouchers (e.g. The Good Guys, Kmart, Target, Officeworks). BIG W does not sell $300 Telstra recharge vouchers.
