Woolworths Vouchers Expiry Dates

Hey guys, do people know how woolworths coupons / vouchers expiry work? I got some back as a refund from an order i had put through. If it says the expiry date, does that mean that is the last day i can use it, or i need to use it before that date? as in the day before is the last day?

Just use it the day before.

You can place a dummy order and cancel it later to "renew" the credits, which may involve more value on an eGC and/or $EDR into it.

If it is more than $5, it is possible to convert it into a Wish eGC (but it takes a while to connect and chat with a CS Rep).

They return it as woolies credit because they make money when some people forget about it. Demand it as a cash refund next time otherwise you'll report them.

I would call and demand it as a cash refund unless it's a bonus credit

OP got store credits coz he used an eGC(s) / $EDR / store credits or a combination of these as payment. Otherwise, the refund would have been back to the original payment method that may be PP, CC, etc.

  • Yeah I hate how they give it back as a credit with a expiry instead of a gift card with no expiry.

  • My last out of stock credit has an expiry of 2025, if I’ve not spent it by them guaranteed I’ve lost it

    • That is an incredibly long expiry date … the vouchers they issued me only last 1 year.

Had a look through some old ones
March and earlier were 12 months, April to June all have 3 years.

Why not use it in the recent orders? Last time I used it allowed more than one code. Ignore the minimum spend as it did not apply at all.

Is that right? :) Good to know. Thanks.

@bluesky: It could have been changed with the 3 year expiry. I converted ($EDR) to Wish eGCs last a few times after the whole order canceled on purpose.

              • @Neoika: This is a good idea - especially after all the accounts of people's EDR$ being stolen. The only thing - since the minimum online buy is $50, I will have to put in more money to do this, if I have less than EDR$50. I might still try this if my EDR$ starts to accumulate.

Also, do you know if the conversion from voucher to Wish eGC is a goodwill gesture or something they usually do? Have they ever said no, or put up resistance to do so? Thanks.

@bluesky: It is mentioned in the FAQ regarding refund policy.

                  • @Neoika: I was not thinking when writing the above comment … I can use an eGift card to pad up the $50, and then get back a bigger eGift card :)

        • Good to hear that they have extended the validity period of vouchers. Such a pity they can only be used for online orders.
