Hi OzB fam. I am looking for a jade bangle for a gift. Does anyone know of any reputable jewellery dealers in NSW they can recommend?
I heard it is common for a lot of fake jade to be sold although I wouldn't know how to tell and I doubt the gift recipient would either.
Any help appreciated.

There's actually quite a few of them. Some have probably closed down since my time. They're really all the same but there's slight variations in the prices.
If you're around the area, go for a walk and have a chat to them. It'll help a lot if you (or whoever you go with) with can speak chinese or vietnamese.

China has cities that specialise in jade wholesale and distribution and retail. The only problem is you're just as likely to get conned there if you're not an expert. Just like with antiques, if you don't know, don't buy.
When I was a kid, my parents used to go to the asian jewellery shops in the city, Bankstown and Cabramatta to satisfy all their jade needs. You kind of need to know what you're looking for as well - like whether you like the greener colours, etc. A lot of those shops are still there.
