Got emailed this 15% off coupon, I had previously ordered 4 lifeproof iPhone cases, and 2 car chargers all of which are working perfectly 6 months later. Definitely recommend the case, its waterproof, dustproof, snowproof and shockproof.
Its water submergable for 2 meters or something similar, so yeah it does. And the microphone is about 10% weaker, but the loudspeaker is actually a lot better with the case on.
Shipping is a killer tough! ~$25 for shipping to metro Melb. Total with 15% off coupon for a case is ~$95.
You can buy them (2nd gen lifeproof case for iphone 4/4S) for ~$76AUD from ebay shipped from within Aus. Which is essentially saving on the shipping price. Just a quick search for "lifeproof iphone" on ebay will find you these listings.
*I must also admit I've been wanting to buy myself one of these cases! I'm just on trial with Android at the moment.
Not AMAZING… My local independent phone store sells the lifeproof range for $79.95. Shipping kills the bargain here…
Hmm back when i bought these they weren't available in Australia.
i guess maybe if you bundled enough items it would save costs? I know that by buying the 6 items together when i made my transaction originally i saved $50, but if its available with warranty locally then you can't do better then that…
Otterbox, anyone?
Completely different case mate. these actually look half decent on the phone, compared to the bulky, clunkyness of the Otterbox Defender. And the defender isn't waterproof…
Otterbox has soo many issues. Not that I've tried life proof. I'm on my 4th defender so I will say the support from otterbox is great as they have replaced it for free each time. The Problems with iPhone 4s case are-
- charge port does not close properly (had this on several new cases even)
- rubber case gets loose very quick around the home button/side clips and top of case.
- rubber can snap at the mute button.
I had the 3GS case for 2 years and it was issue free. Otterbox dropped the ball with the 4s defender. They have a new case coming soon which is also waterproof. Looks like an improvement. IMHO they should send everyone who bought a defender one free of charge as it just does not live up to the promise.
Another new case out that interests me is the iskin faze sl. It has the rubber inside and plastic on the outer. Would mean less missed phone calls as the otterbox gets stuck in your pocket.
looks quite interesting, is the microphone and speaker covered as well to protect it from the elements?, assuming it does, does it block out the sound a bit?
