Is there any reason you need the car to be newer than 2005? The Main consideration is generally KM rather than year, though as most people shop on year you can get better deals with a less driven older car. Also, name changes are great for this (for example getting the last 626 costs a lot less than the first mazda 6). Also small cars cost a LOT more than large cars (or have far less features for the cost), just as long as you are aware of this.
If I were you I would only consider a car with ABS, I see it as critical.
Finally I find drive and carsales to be the most useful.
I have a 2006 Hatchback Corolla for sale for $7500, amazing little car that i love but upgrading to bigger car.
I note that you wanted a car with low km's but she has done quite a few KM, 200k however this has mainly been highway driving between Traralgon and Bendigo.
