Blade Runner (5 Disc) BluRay @ JB: $24.98

220

Good Afternoon fellow Oz Bargainers,

I've been a long time visitor of this website, so thought it was fair to share this.

I popped in to the Bourke St JB HiFi this afternoon and discovered that the 5 blu-ray of Blade Runner had reappeared for sale. On top of this the set was only $24.98. Lots of great features (all listed on the link above). I remember paying alot more than this at the time it was released several years ago. Probably only for a Blade Runner fan though.

    Scorpio, you're totally mad.

    • I want more life….

      • A flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long….

  • I bought the briefcase edition before, great collection

  • For all the parents, the HSC english text is the "directors cut" which appears in disc 3 (i assume as a normal SD movie), not the blu-ray version

  • Why do you need five discs for one movie? To watch the janitor talk about "the making of…"?

    • I think this version has a lot of different cuts of the movie, don't think it includes an interview the the janitor though

      • +7

The janitor interview is on the out-of-print 7 disc set.

        • 5 disc pack includes "the making of blade runner" and the inspirational "the making of the making of blade runner"

    • If you got it, milk it for all its worth.

    • Love the way some people think & post without the slightest bit of research - which would take about as long to do as making an uneducated reply on this site…

    Free shipping too!

  • I liked the unicorn dream sequence, and the happy ending scene driving through the mountains and forest, and Deckard's narration. So I didn't mind the theatrical release. But 5 discs is just crazy. One is sufficient.

    • i liked it when the staypuff marshmellow man comes alive and walks through new york… oh wait…

  • I dont know whether to get this, or wait for JB to have a 20% off sale again and buy the final cut as part of the Buy 1 get 1 free sale.

I got the DVD version in a nice box (not the briefcase edition) a few years back and I'm pretty sure it's never made it's way into my player. Yet I still feel the need to replace it with a superior bluray copy.

If only they offered some kind of trade in scheme…

    • But that would be akin to piracy, surely!

    • "If only they offered some kind of trade in schemeā€¦"

Hmm… now thats a great idea for a business!
People want to get rid of stuff, so they come in and the sales people offer them cash for their crap. Stay with me here…. and then, to make a profit this business will onsell that item to others who are looking to buy 2nd hand crap at a 'bargain' price. So in effect, you'd be converting your crap for cash.

The only thing is, what would a business like this be called I wonder?

      Yeeeeep… if only.

      • Thankyou for that detailed description of NOT a trade in scheme. The next time I'm in need of some unrelated drivel I'll know exactly where to come.

Bugger! I just bought the normal Blu Ray version on the deal they had a week or so ago. Great deal!

  • So can someone confirm whether this contains the version with the narration and clear sky at the end and that it is actually in 1080p?

    • +1

Yes it does. It has the theatrical version, a work print version, the director's cut, the international version and a new version. I bought my copy back in April 2008 and shipped from Amazon US it cost me A$22.60

  • Quiz question.

Ridley Scott, Captain Cook and the Sydney Harbour bridge are all from the same town. Name it!

    • middlesbrough

      • monorail!

        doh!

      • Well Done!

A bonus mark for spelling it right as well. You didn't Google it did you?
