I've been shopping around for cheap MS Office 2021 keys and seeing a lot around $30-40 mark while others are typically ~$200.
Are these legit keys??

Too bad no more HUP
Whats HUP?
Home Use Program. Office could be had for under $50.
Not much, just scrolling Ozbargain. Thanks for asking though.
Still working as of last week for me for Microsoft 365 Personal, although HUP is now renamed to Workplace Discount Programme.
Drops subscription price from ~$100 to ~$70p/a.
I think with hup it was a one off payment
Bitsdujour which was selling it at US$40 is legit. You even redeem it on the microsoft store. They don't give you a key.
Redeem via phone?
If your work uses Office365 you have 5 installs per account so you can just log into http://portal.office.com and install it from there.
It's a lot more difficult now with the rollout of Microsoft Endpoint Security. You have to sign-over your personal computer or phone privacy rights and give them access to remote wipe etc…
Can't you just select the "Only sign in to this app" option when setting up the mail profile?
With the new annoying system it won't let you login with Office365 account at all either on personal computer or iPhone without agreeing to Endpoint protection stuff and setting up the security profiles. So no log-in means no activation of Office on personal devices.
MS Teams is the only one so far that doesn't seem to need this but all the rest of Office suite do.
@Hybroid: Sounds yucky but tbh I didn't even know you could install Office for free on your PC using this method. Could have saved me some $$$ :S
@Hybroid: If you're talking about the "Allow my organisation to manage my device" prompt you just hit the "No, sign in to this app only" button at the bottom. That's what I did on my own computer and I just checked the Endpoint Admin Centre and it's not registered.
@Cheaplikethebird: Ah, I might have to give that another go. Thanks for heads up!
@Hybroid: Is so they can send work mail to your personal devices. Gross.
@reactor-au: Not at all. You have to add your business account on your personal device, installing office on your personal device doesn't do this unless you actually want to.
It's a lot more difficult now with the rollout of Microsoft Endpoint Security.
Just to clarify for others, that only applies if your company subscribes to it. If they don't, you can still do the 5 installs thing as long as your assigned licence allows it without having to allow your admin to wipe etc.
edit: Or, just sign in to the app like Cheaplikethebird mentioned above!
Actually for some reason they can buy 365 subs now that are online app only, which is ridiculous, so you may have a work pc that doesn’t have the desktop apps at all
If you have to ask then you already think they as suspect and they are.
Is that the same as sasking "does my butt look big in this?"
Sure does, just like asking "do you think my fart stinks?"
… just your thighs …
I always found it interesting that TweakTown (a supposedly reputable IT related news website) promotes cheap keys like these which are clearly not for private use.
I mean those keys work but they're not meant for personal use. The same as windows keys.
Are they for commercial use
They're some sort of TechNet/,msdn/visual studio subscription keys meant for IT or development testing. Not meant for resale or even use in a production environment or for use by anyone other than the person the subscription is linked to.
Eg my visual studio subscription has 10 keys for every piece of ms software.
If you have an outlook/hotmail email accounts, you can edit your docs, excels, ppts etc for free in browser on https://www.office.com/ .
If you have an One Drive account, it can be used to save your files.
Thanks! I had forgotten about this!! I saw this trick earlier and used it to get around a problem at work when 'they' didnt want to fork out for another 365 sub.

$155 for home and student.
1 PC only.
Personally, the 1 PC only was a dealbreaker. I caved and just went with Office 365.
I bought a office pro 2021 @ $120 off ebay, it turned up yesterday new in the box unopened with the usb stick and key code inside and i registered it on line with out any problems
Aahhh.. that's a good deal.
Of course it is not legitimate. But you can still get around it by cracking software for win10 and win11 for free. These sellers asked US$40 out for nothing.
There's a high risk the cracks include malware.
USD$50 but only Mac version remaining
Mod: removed link
thanks!
Sold by Nerdused, a third party spammer that sells on marketplaces.
MacRumors often offers MS Office deal for around US$40 outright. Windows and Mac OS
THanks! I'll keep this bad boy bookmarked for the next deal for Windoze
Thanks!
Those guys told me they would give me a link to download the product instead of giving me a product key.
Suspicious. Why do I want to download from their links which could be alternated and have virus/trojan planted?
It would make more sense if they give you the product key and you download the program from the MS website. But anyway, they are not legitimate as everyone has stated.
Do they give you a key as well as the download link?
What is the domain for their link?
You can download the program straight from ms via click to run dude…
LibreOffice isn't bad if it is just for home use. If you need it for uni with referencing and sharing with others etc it can be a bit more work to ensure everything works smoothly.
It’s easy enough to activate the 2021 offline version for 180 days trial and then do it again, but 365 is another story
