Hi all,
I travel a lot and I'm looking for a laptop which I can throw in my bag and can be my work BYOD as well as play some light games in my spare time (nothing too graphically intensive).
I figured a USB C powered laptop would fit my situation perfectly as chargers are pretty cheap, easily available and convenient as I can charge all my devices with 1 charger.
My initial thoughts on my requirements are;
- USB C Powered (Ideally ~100W)
- Decent battery life (~5 hours of video conferencing and working)
- Mild gaming (unlikely to game when not plugged in)
- Not bulky (doesn't need to be small either)
- USB 4 or Thunderbolt 4 would be a plus
I had considered the Asus Flow X13 6800HS 3050ti, which on paper looked perfect however I read that is only draws 65W from third party chargers, which puts me off.
The XPS 13 Plus looked good or something with a 6800U, but those laptops generally use 65W chargers, which is fine however I feel like I'm missing out on some performance gains from my 100W chargers.
Any suggestions on other laptops or thoughts on the XPS 13 Plus or a 6800U for light gaming? Or is my use case just too niche?
You are only missing out on slightly faster charging speeds with the 100w on the laptop.
That doesn't mean that your existing chargers are wasted.
