Coles Flybuys Bonus Question

Hi, I recently activated a bonus off from flybuys Coles.

“Collect 10,000 bonus points
Spend $50 in one transaction at Coles in each week for 4 weeks

Plus, collect up to 4,000 bonus points if your weekly qualifying shops are completed online
Spend $50 in one transaction, each week for 4 weeks to collect 10,000 bonus points.
For each weekly qualifying shop completed online, you will collect an additional 1,000 bonus points”

In week 1 (8-17 July) I spent just over $50 in store, until I read the terms of the additional 1000 points is only if you do it online.
I did another order of $50 and this time online to qualify for the part of the 1000.

My question is will the 1000 show on points balance each week or only once the 4-week period is finished?
I'm just not sure if they will track the bonus 1000 as my 1st purchase of week 1 was in store.

Thanks,
David.

only once the 4-week period is finished?

    This

  • So you did 2 orders in week 1?
I think you will get the points at the end if not speak/email them.
Would have been better not to do the 2nd shop as you diluted your discount.
You do not have to do all 4 weeks online but will get 1000 points for each one you do.
Unfortunately doing it online whether C&C or delivery means you are more likely to get OOS and will have to contact them. Keep receipts and proof of activation. I keep sc but it may be on the receipts if it says 3 more weeks to go or you may get an email stating do not forget your week 3 shop. I have had a situation where they said I did not activate until I told them the time and date. Also if you get a one week offer the first week of the 4 week offer you can stack as long as you meet the conditions of both.

      Thanks for that info Yola.

  • Interesting. I did not read it right the first time.

    2 shops in one week.

I don't think the 1000 points will track as the instore one is already counted.

    • Not sure either, I thought if the 1st $50 was in store it wouldn't get the bonus 1000 but the 2nd would.
Will have to wait and see at the end.

To avoid hassle, do not shop online.

You have to do it online to get the additional 4000 points.

“For each weekly qualifying shop completed online, you will collect an additional 1,000 bonus points”

      • Ignore all online related offer. You'll get stuck once.

        • But $5 is 10% off and you will get the points but will have to contact them. If the OOS is in the first week you may benefit by receiving the one-week offers as well because the system does not think you are doing the 4-week offer.

Yes, heartily agree. I shopped online for the same 10,000 points + 4000 points offer. My total was $63+ but out of stocks brought the total to $49.48. No bonus points accrued for that purchase. At least in the store you're sure to get the bonus points.

      • You can get the bonus points but you have to contact them.

        • Nope, I contacted them and they said because it didn't hit the $50 mark, they wouldn't give me the bonus. I argued that I had placed the order well above the minimum, that Woolworths don't penalize customers, etc. I even spoke to another person in a separate phone call and the result was the same.

          • @eyeballz2770: Wow, this would be a huge issue for me as I do most of my shopping online, and currently, we are experiencing severe supply issues. About 50% of my shops have items OOS. They could say you can order extra but how much? I have had up to 40% of an order OOS. I know you spoke to 2 operators but just on 14 July, I received an email from them agreeing to credit me missing bonus points due to OOS. If you completed the 4-week deal I recommend you email them.
Include your name and Flyby number in the subject.
State the date of the email offer and its conditions - cut and past.
State time and date of activation and attach proof usually an sc, or mention the invoice shows you have successfully started the 4-week offer if applicable -I have had them say I did not active and had to tell them the time and date.
State how many points need to be credited and the reason why you believe they were not and attach a copy of the invoice.
They just need to go tick and tick. 100% success rate from over 20 emails.
            [email protected]
If you are talking about the current deal it's too late for you to do the second week. I am doing one as well and have had items OOS already and will be emailing them and hopefully have a positive response.
It would be really poor if they are making people shop in-store to participate in these offers when Covid is on the way up.

@Yola: Thank you for the suggestions. My keyboard isn't working so I'm having to use on-screen keyboard and don't have the energy to tap out the whole saga. ;)

This was back in July 2021 so too late to do anything about it now. I normally get treated very well by store managers and customer service. So they lost a regular customer. If I shop at Coles now, it's only for the 1/2 price or better deals and only in store.

              • @eyeballz2770: It seems flybuys changes the offer to 30x pts for 1st online shop now, which makes it easier to calculate and less work for customer service line.

@eyeballz2770: I did it a couple of times with Flybuys support already. I don't have time to wait on the line to talk to an agent, so I just send them a message via their twitter account (@flybuys). There will be an automatic response to ask for your details to confirm your identity. I usually send them a long, detailed message of when I activated the offer, which week I purchased and there were OOS items. They could cross-check in their system. Usually, after a week or so, I receive a reply from them and the points is credited after that.

Also, in case they refuse to give you the points due to OOS, tell them that you checked with Coles and Coles said they honored the order amount, not invoice amount. (I already checked it with Coles so you just can tell them that)

Regarding your points in July 2021, you can just tell them that you didn't see the point credited to your account. I did something similar for a transaction which almost a year and I couldn't see the transations history in Flybuys website, but they still credited the points to my account.

                • @nthanhhai: I agree, the offer that eyeballz2770 missed out on was $70. Worth a try by email or Twitter. Do not call writing definitely gets more serious consideration.

  • I've got 2 FB accounts, one tracked with 1000points added (purchase made in the 1st week window), the other did not track (3 days before Week 1 due).
