Hi
To keep it short.
I am in the process of sanding off the old finish on hardwood furniture to bring them back to life.
I have an orbital sander 125mm and the costs of sandpaper disks are through the roof.
I have tried the cheap ones at bunnings and they don't last and I have also tried the expensive one which the quality is better but I cannot justify spending 2 dollars per disc.
What do fellow bargainers recommend?
Any brands amazon ebay shops where to buy
Thanks in advance
Brands i have tried
Craftright == 'not very good'
Makita == 'Very good'
Diablo == 'Very good'
Exaxtly what are you sanding (raw timber? painted? shellac?) and what wears out quickly (i.e. symptoms please)? I can say that there are a number of reasons why lifespan can be short. Clogging? Overheating? Wearing down the Velcro felt…
Have tried most of those sold at bunnings, they're all OK. Diablo (the red ones) seem like the best performers (also very good belts for belt sanders).
