Right now bunnings is clearing out their Pinnacle shelving items, as they seem to do every year.
I spotted them at a couple of stores, but most have only reduced them to $180.
Both Vermont South (down the road from box hill) and Keysborough have them at $130 which is very reasonable for the size and strength of these things.
If nobody buys them, in a month they'll probably drop them to a hundred bucks

Pricing is so weird at bunnings
I got some bargains today
Arlec celing fan $10 for $70
Victor cordless blower skin $25
LED bathroom light $8 for $60
What's the normal price of these? There's two similar but one is better quality (about $50 diff)

People underestimate how much "450KG per shelf" really is.
Thats over 1.5Tonne fully loaded. Each set of shelves could handle a fully dismantled family car.
If you 'limtied yourself' to 300kg per shelf, because this one wasn't "better quality" then you're still getting over a tonne of storage.
Not only are they good, i have a bunch of them, but I like them because my really nerdy friends get a giggle with me when I casually say 'those shelves can hold a tonne of stuff'. and they realise it's literal.
Sure but there's more to "better quality" than just how much each shelf can hold…
I don't have any really nerdy friends but will be sure to let any nerds know that my shelf can hold a tonne of stuff if one ever comes to my house.
What other features do you look for in Garage Shelving outside of reliably holding things?
(and that aren't so major, you'd just refund it as truly faulty)
I am looking for shelves like these for my collection of plants in the back yard. The steel mesh shelves are ideal. I wonder how good the powder coating is, that is, how long before it starts to rust with constant moisture?
The reinforced plastic shelving units would be better

@easternculture: Thanks for the link. I'll pop into Officeworks and have a look. I'm a bit confused by the description that says "The shelf has a heavy duty polypropylene plastic construction with a PVC finish."
Hopefully the plastic is UV stabilised.
Funny, I had the same idea for them. The powder coating is pretty good, but if treated roughly will chip and scratch. Best to accept it and have some paint or epoxy sealer to put over any breaches when they happen.
Not sure I'd go with plastic, unless it's seedlings and in a greenhouse away from direct sunlight. Even UV stabilized stuff struggles with Australian sun
@outlander: I had a look today at the plastic ones and they will topple over easily and I can't see them lasting that long in the sun.
I think I will look at the above heavy duty units with wire shelves instead.
When did Bunnings stop stocking the 'Rack-It' shelving?
Might be region specific but they still do in my local Bunnings. A big step above the pinnacle in quality IMO

These are great shelves. Managed to negotiate them down to $79 if I were to buy the last 3 they had left at my local store last year.
540width is great but would be even better if they had 600mm wide shelves. Pick up some off cut boards or get some mdf cut up and put it on top of the wire shelves to stop stuff falling through or bottles/containers from falling over.
