EB Games advertises it as an "EB Exclusive", even though it was available through the My Nintendo Store (but is OOS now).

    • I assume it is exclusive to EB Games as a retailer. So JB won't get it for example.

    • +2

Same as fire emblem special edition. I think they mean exclusive expect Nintendo itself. LoL.

      • +1

I snoozed on the Fire Emblem SE. Still kicking myself. I need to make a decision on holding my ground and waiting for a copy to appear at a reasonable price or going against my principles and speaking with a scalper. 😖

        • +1

I ordered from Nintendo in the first hour-ish. Didn't even look at what's included. Then I realised it's overpriced for sure. Well, Nintendo wouldn't allow me to cancel the order. I have to take it. Still sealed collecting dust. One day I may open it, who knows.

          • @ce5himm: Was that Fire Emblem or Bayonetta?

        • +2

According to EB Games online, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Limited Edition is still available at Livingston, WA store.

Could try calling the store directly to see if they would be willing to post.

          • @RichardL: Thank you so much! I will try giving them a call tomorrow. If they have a copy and won't post I could always try Airtasker, I guess.

  • +6

This is full price of the game. Am i missing something?

    • It's a full priced game. But you knew that.

    • At least u were entertained

    • +1

Because full price is the new heavily discounted when it comes to limited editions of videogames, you either pay full price or 6 times that if you cave in and want it late. Sucks, but that's 100% the reason the post is here.

      • -2

Or you wait a few months and get them for $30 when everyone realises they are a complete waste of money.

        • +1

          Yeah, good luck with that.

Wait a few months and you'll be paying much more not less, it's a nice thought, but you're quite simply wrong. Accidentally ordered two copies of the previous Bayo collectors, price went to about 4x within a few months.

Thing is it's not FOMO, because it's not a fear of missing out.
It's TOMO, the real threat of missing out.

        • +1

You’re not getting this edition at a discount if you don’t get a pre order, lol… 🤦‍♂️

          • -6

@Tal_Shiar: That's nice, I'll get it closer to a 1/3rd the price, digitally with eshop vouchers and discounted credit. Added bonus, my house isn't full of junk.

  • +1

Does this come with all 3 games? I'm trying to google what '3 game cases' means but coming up mixed answers :/

    • +1

one game, but can fit three games

    • +2

It's comes with just Bayonetta 3. It also comes with 3 special game sleeves for the other games (this may be what you're getting confused with)

    • +1

Only Bayonetta 3. The Trinity Masquerade Edition includes:

      Bayonetta™ 3 game cartridge
      200-page Artbook
3 special game sleeves that combine to form a panoramic artwork

So basically 3x Game Cover Art (as per this image)

    • +1

Cheers guys, I had it in my cart but I think I'll pass afterall :)

  • +7

Wow that is overpriced for an art book and 3 different game sleaves

  • Yeah this isn't great, worse than the cheaper Xenoblade Chronicles 3 LE.

  • +4

Order from EB, and you can always cancel later. Not like if you order from Nintendo store, you can not cancel your order.

    • 100% this! I preorder anything that even mildly interests me from EB so that I don't miss out. And then I have plenty of time to think about it and can cancel at any time. I probably cancel about half the time but its better than missing out!

      • +1

Same here. The deposit can also be refunded/moved to a different order too.

    • I think it's not worth it. But I will see, put down $30. Maybe I will just cancel it and order god of war tomorrow.

  • EB Games:

    Just $30 deposit
    Can cancel anytime
Trade in games to pay the difference.

Oh yeah, but EB Games is the Devil

One of the most overpriced LE tho!!

  • +1

Pass. This is way too expensive for an art book and three game covers that don't even look good.

  • -2

Can't believe they are charging double the US and UK price for this in Australia (it costs USD and GBP of $79)! Way overpriced for what you're getting. Would've bought if it included the other two games in the package as opposed to just the covers though.

    • 79 GBP is around 140 AUD

    • +2

Have you seen the AUD-USD exchange rate?

    • Please tell me you understand exchange rates? 😂😂

    • So they should charge AUD79 =USD53=GBP45? I am kind of lost.

  • +5

I appreciate the heads-up as missed the Nintendo AU release earlier today.

    • +1

      Same here. Thanks OP!!!

  • +2

This is so overpriced. I remember when they used to give out Bayonetta Gun Replicas

    • +2

That was awesome. They should have given us a figure or something to display. Who cares about an art book and game covers V_V

      • -1

Who cares about an art book and game covers

        I do. Thanks for asking.

I don't care for figurines, keyrings and similar tat.

  • +1

Keep buying these half arsed special editions and Nintendo will keep making them.

Same goes with their games lately.

    • Game $80 on release.
      Artbook $40-ish worth.
      Box $5-ish

All in all, I'm OK with the value proposition. Yeah - there's some tasty margin there, but that's par for the course on short production run products.

Value is in the eyes of the market (read: collectors). If you don't think this looks like a good buy, just let it sit on the retail/warehouse shelf. Nintendo won't mind.

      • They can do alot better though. They did in the past.

        See comment below.

        • I saw your comment. What more can I say? Times change.

Given current costs of design, manufacture, distribution and fulfilment (not to mention local purchasing power against the USD) I'm not going to pretend that they can deliver a banging CE package with game, artbook, CD soundtrack, poster, keyring (and other miscellaneous tat) for under AUD100. That ship has well and truly sailed.

      • +2

Game could well be cheaper at release though. Anyone that preordered on Amazon when it popped up a week or two ago will already have the base game price of $71.47. Decent chance it could be cheaper for launch too. $59 or $69 are very common for switch.

That said, if people are into the art book all power to them. I’ve purchased collector editions that probably would be seen as a poor financial buy by others in the past or dropped extra to secure some DLC that interest me. Nothing wrong with buying something you’re fond of.

  • So we post about regular priced preorder collectors edition games?

Also, stop buying junk and encouraging this sorta crap.

    • Thank you for your gatekeeping services.

      • +1

Seriously though. You're just encouraging them to put out crap.

You know you used to get sound tracks and big figurines and art book in these types of editions.

Now you get a box with thin card board, a book (only good thing about them now) and a steel sleeves.

Nintendo are just capitalising on the collectors and die hards.

        • +2

Seriously though. You're just encouraging them to put out crap.

I'm in their target market (whale collector). Inclusion of a good quality artbook and a box that matches the other CEs in the Switch Bayonetta series is not crap to me.

You know you used to get sound tracks and big figurines and art book in these types of editions.

Figurines = toys. Doesn't float my boat. A soundtrack CD would have been nice. Yes, CEs continue to change.

I used to be able to buy a Macca's soft serve cone for $0.30, too.

Nintendo are just capitalising on the collectors and die hards

Niche product for a niche audience. I don't understand your argument. CEs have never been about getting a great deal on a bunch of products you need. They're all marked-up bundles of stuff to satiate fans and collectors. They're a product marketed and purchased emotionally….not rationally.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Agreed, yes, they are all overpriced. But they are not for general bargainers either. They made these for fans not every gamers.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Too bad these cds are sound selections and not full actual soundtrack

        • +1

I love Nintendo but these sorts CEs are embarrassing. Sure, give an exclusive Amiibo or something back in the day, Zelda figurines…. But when they start including crap like post cards… Seriously.

      • Would you pay $70-80 for the extra crap alone?

        No.

    • Amazing u can scroll straight by

      • You can not comment too, but here we are.

  • +3

    Ordered, thanks!!!

  • +1

Thanks OP was bummed i missed Nintendo.

  • +1

Well you never know. Same with the MH Rise Pro Controller, didn’t even know it was that limited till it was all gone lol

    • Same with the MH Rise Pro Controller, didn’t even know it was that limited till it was all gone lol

MH Rise Pro Controller still available through the My Nintendo Store

      • That’s the Rise Sunbreak one, not the OG Rise Controller.

  • +2

Grabbed one too. Thanks. Was too slow for Nintendo site earlier today.

    • You didn't happen to get an extra Fire Emblem from them, by chance? 🤪

      • Negative. But I’ll keep my eyes (and ears) peeled.

        • Bless 😉

          • @[Deactivated]: Same for me with Xenoblade 3. Fuming that I didn't preorder

            • @RQNinja: Yep. Same.

  • +1

Fastest preordered ever I've done! I know it seems so expensive than should be. Big Artbook has +200 pages!

Will we see God of War Ragnarok collector's edition RRP posts tomorrow?

  • Going by previous outings for roughly 80 bucks you probably get 10 to 15 hours of gameplay, (yeah, maybe alot more for the nerdy completionists). Still needs to be 9/10 or higher, plus it'll need good replay value for it to impress That trailer oh dear Platinum games still using the same engine from Bayonetta 1 it seems. It's costing Nintendo and Platinum a packet to insert a soft core "Nude" option in the settings. Flame on ! lol

PS: Nintendo are re-releasing a physical version of Bayonetta 1 for $30 USD from what I have read.

    • You mean the opposite? The "nude" option is the standard for the series, the "naive angel" mode is the one that's tacked onto the settings.

Edit: Also, probably well worthwhile as it means people can/will stream it without fear of Twitch getting mad, which means free publicity.

  • +1

$69 at JB… Paying over double for an artbook and some alternative cover art. I did preorder 3 CE as I have the bayo 2 CE but I'm not really seeing the appeal anymore may cancel and just get the standard
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/nintendo-switch-bayonetta…

    • +2

Value proposition is worse when you consider you'll most likely be able to pick the game itself up for $50 close to release on a deal somewhere.

I remember this Bravely Default Deluxe edition was roughly same price when it came out. Much better value: 250 page book, game, figurine and sound track CD in an actual nice box. Opening it would be a bit more of an experience.

      https://pushstartgaming.wordpress.com/2016/02/25/bravely-sec…

Now you get game sleeves and a book in a thin cardboard case. Should be an amiibo, key chain or something else at the minimum with a good quality box.

  • ahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

  • PS: Physical Copy of Bayonetta 1 available for pre-order at EB Games for $49.95
