  • Are the pro's better than these?

    • +8

Do you like sealed silicon tip earbuds then go the pros. If you like unsealed earbuds then go the lives.

      • Cheers

        • +1

these are surprisingly so good. i love them.

    • +1

Also be aware if you have a nickel allergy the Pros may exacerbate the reaction.

    • Pro deal here

  • This or buds 2?

    • +4

Buds 2 should be better in every way if you are okay with the eartips. All comes down to preference, if you don't mind eartips buds 2, otherwise just go with these.

  • Which are best for phone calls with ambient noise?

    • -4

      Apple Airpods.

    • +2

These aren't good for calls when I am out and about - wouldn't recommend.

      • +2

Way better than all the cheapo tws though.

        • +1

          Also way more expensive.

          • +1

@dust: Well I went through a few terrible SoundPeats products trying to find a decent set, the total cost was much more than these. And to be fair, the better of the cheap ones are still around $40-$50, so double the cost, but more than 2x better I guess.

      • i use it for daily call and meeting without any issues.. at least my Boss is Happy

    • these are not great with background noise for calls. no background noise and they're great.

    • There are no good TWS earphones for phone calls, just because of how sound travels. Unless you take one out and talk into it you will easily get dominated by background noise just because it's closer to the microphone than your mouth is.

    • +2

If you really want a decent mic, go wired, all Bluetooth call audio is very similarly bad, not all the exact same but yeah

      • Bluetooth isn't the issue, it's capable of transmitting high-quality audio. It's the distance between the mic and the mouth that's the problem. Earbuds are far away so they have to crank up the gain which will pick up a lot of ambient noise. It then has to process it to reduce the noise which is where the quality suffers.

Comms-oriented Bluetooth headphones and earpieces like these put the mic closer to the mouth where it should be, so mic pickup will be really good.

If you put a wired mic at your ear it'll also sound bad.

        • …No, bluetooth is the problem because we aren't talking about bluetooth audio. Bluetooth audio and bluetooth phone calls are two different things, bluetooth phone calls always sound bad. You're right about mic placement but that isn't what I was talking about, and a bluetooth earpiece will sound good, but not better than the mic of a wired earphone, really any of them are better than the current bluetooth standard. Especially if you're using VOIP or VOLTE, wired mics always gonna sound better. You are right in saying the best inbetween is a comms oriented bt earpiece, those balance the pros and cons well enough for calling

          • @fAffY:

Bluetooth audio and bluetooth phone calls are two different things

Yes. Bluetooth has different profiles for audio playback and headset use.

bluetooth phone calls always sound bad.

Have you tried leaving yourself a voicemail with a proper Bluetooth headset with a boom mic (Jabra, Plantronics etc) and switching back and forth between the headset and the phone mic? If you send the recording to someone they'd have a hard time telling them apart.

Especially if you're using VOIP or VOLTE, wired mics always gonna sound better.

I assume you're referring to wideband audio, often called HD Voice. Basic Bluetooth headsets only support CVSD under the headset profile which has an 8kHz sampling rate, giving you up to 4kHz audio which matches an ordinary non-wideband phone call. If you're comparing a headset or headphone that only supports CVSD then yes, the wired mic will sound better.

Proper Bluetooth headsets support the mSBC codec under the handsfree profile which has a 16kHz sampling rate giving you up to 8kHz audio, matching the AMR-WB codec used by mobile operators. A proper Bluetooth headset can potentially sound better than a wired mic simply because the headset's mic is right at your mouth while a wired mic might be dangling at your neck.

  • Are they Multipoint?

    • +1

      For Samsung devices like Apple

  • +6

ignore the ANC, it is a good headphone for exercise and daily use

I ve been using it for 2 years and is the most comfortable headphone

    • +5

Used the anc on a plane and was impressed! Perhaps not for active stuff.

  • Will wait for similar deal on pros as it has better noise cancellation

  • +1

Great price, these trump all the cheapo tws buds I bought before realising I needed to spend more for decent buds. Not for people that like the sealed buds, these are great when you want to let in a little environment noise.

  • +3

I have these and the WF1000XM4. These are great for times when you want to listen to something but also still be aware of what's happening around you like at work or when doing a task. They're really easy to insert and remove and they stay there - YMMV depending on your ear hole. The ANC is designed for lower frequencies and it does work for that.

I carry both around in my bag. The WF1000XM4 sounds better and has much better ANC, so I use it when I want to block out noise and listen to something. I'm not in that situation a lot though, so I end up using the Buds Live a lot more than the Sony.

  • Can we return back easily to Amazon if not opened? In case I find pros also on better deal?

    • +2

Yes, 30 day returns no questions asked even if they have been opened

  • these are now gone, got to be quick!

  • +2

Join the wait-list. Plenty of indecisive people like me by the look of it. I let mine expire twice before committing.

    • I have every Samsung Buds(OG Buds,Buds Plus,Buds Pro, Buds 2) except this one.
      Completed my collection now.

      • Were none of them good enough?

        • Oh every one of them is good, although I dont like the fit of the Buds pro.

          • @techno2000: If every one of them was good, why did you buy the next iteration?

            • @onlinepred: I like to try other buds. And anyway it doesnt cost that much in ozbargain deals.I got one through Telstra bonus 50,000 points. I am still rocking a 3 year old phone though.

      • +5

        That's a weird flex lol

  • -5

    No noise canceling.

  • Got one! I clicked add to cart button as soon as it became available!

It can be in the cart for 15mins and some will cancel so you gotta watch

  • How does the waitlist work? Will I be notified via email? on my amazon app on the phone?

    • +1

Amazon app, not by email. But I would advise just checking every 5 minutes or so incase the notification doesn't come through.

      Photo

  • Says $138 now

  • +1

I put these on when I ride my motorbike, very slim profile so doesn't stick out a whole lot inside helmet and just enough sound at max volume. Easy to come off though when fitting/removing helmet

    • Can people hear you on voice calls? biggest issue I've got with my comms system is issues with wind.

    • Max volume? Uh… please be careful with your hearing.

  • Damn needed these as my crappy taotronics ones have died after a few weeks.

  • +1
  • They cancelled my order on the day of delivery for some bogus reason. Note to self, avoid AZ eShop!

    • +1

I wouldn't worry. I just received mine and they they are are terrible in comparison to the Jabra 75T. I'm honestly shocked bad the audio quality is.

    • Mine was delivered today. As I mentioned previously I have this and the Sony WF1000XM4 and use these more. The sound quality is absolutely fine, not sure what is wrong with youfnc's unit.Of course it isn't as good as the Sony but it is better than cheapies.
