  • Has anyone used the duo crisp? I know it's about $70 more than the 8l duo nova, but seems like with the extra features could be good.

    • I'm in the same boat, wondering if it's worth upgrading to the crisp to get rid of the normal air fryer.

    • yea, would like to know this too lol… $218.99 for the crisp or 132.99 for the 5.7L Duo Nova

I haven't got one but I imagine it would be a massive PITA to use given that the air fryer top is an additional piece and is fairly cumbersome. Additionally you also won't have airflow under the food like you would with a normal air fryer.

        It definitely is cumbersone.
But you do have air flow under the food. The air frier vessel has holes on the bottom and sits on its stand in the larger stainless steel vessel.

I have the 8l duo crisp. I haven't used an instant pot or an air fryer before.
The air fryer option is pretty good. Broccolli, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, potatoes, cashewnuts, peanuts, they all come out good.
Yoghurt comes out well with sous vide option.
Haven't really tried the broil or dehydrate yet.
Only gripe is that the lid takes up a bit of space when storing.
If given a chance, I would still buy the 8l crisp version. No regrets.

      • Is 8L too big vs 5.7L option ? we're just a couple and although I can meal pack, Im worried 8L is gonna be problematic when cooking smaller portions

        • My partner was dismayed when she saw it for the first time. It is pretty big. Definitely cumbersome.
But the quantities that can be made in it makes up for that. Additionally, because of the size we are able to use the little trivet thingy for keeping additional stuff on top. For example we are able to combine lentils and rice together. Lentils at the bottom. Rice in a different container on top of the trivet.
          Shortens cooking and cleaning time.

        • If you're planning on using the sous vide function, you'll want the bigger pot.

        • 8L is adequate for a family of 4 or 5 I think.

5.7L will probably work for 1-2 people

  • Thanks OP. Ordered 8L duo Nova now to take benefit of 14%CB from cash reward

Ordered the Duo Crisp. Very highly rated as an air fryer on Choice. Love that it can be used in many ways and will replace my old slow cooker/pressure cooker combo.

    • The air frying function is ok. Something like a Philip XXL will do a much better job then Duo Crisp.

The main benefit of a duo crisp is that I can have an all-in-one unit that does air frying and pressure cooking.

If you have a small kitchen, it saves heaps of space!!!

And I would highly recommend replacing the air frying basket with something else - the basket is pretty trash for air frying tbh.

The new model of the Duo Crisp looks much better with an all in one lid. Pity is hasn't been released here yet https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B1G5M31V/

After using the Duo Crisp 8L for a few weeks now I can say it's pretty damn good. It's found a permanent home here (usually on the bench).

The key benefit here for me is I can make large batches of whatever to feed a growing family. Slow cooking is good too, works well on high.

However, the air fryer not so great at large batches (small serves work a lot better).

I haven't really found the pressure cooking to be any faster than normal cooking, for now, it is still a very handy feature to have.

It's not going to replace a thermomix anytime soon but it will let me get rid of my old air fryer and old slow cooker when they finally break down.
