The 3D acoustic tiles have an NRC rating (noise reduction coefficient) of 0.75 as rated by the University of Auckland. A rating of 0.75 indicates a very high level of noise reduction.

The 3D Tiles are made from thermally moulded, needle punched, felted polyester material containing not less than 55% recycled material. 3D Tiles S-5.26, S-5.28, S-5.32, S5.34, S-5.50 and S-5.53 are specifically designed to reduce and control reverberated noise and echo in building interiors.

Installation is straightforward, and can be done yourself by following the installation guide included in the box. This guide is also available on our website at the bottom of the product description, and on the official Autex website.

Many of our customers purchase multiple designs - which creates a visually interesting and varied acoustic feature wall. Go ahead, mix and match!

Hi Op, just a quick question as I cant seem to find from your post or your website but would you know the dimensions of the panels? cheers

    • +19

They are 575mm x 575mm. Had to search to find it. You would think this would be clearly stated on the main page.

    • To be fair the ones you linked aren't the same.

      From your link:
      Soundproofing?
Please note that acoustic panels are designed for improving the acoustics within a room; they are not effective for removing outside noise or isolating a room.

      • Isn't that exactly what this product posted is doing? It's not sound proofing, but absorbing echo within a room?

        • Hmm you might be right. The OP's description says "noise reduction" so I had assumed it acts like sound proofing. Maybe OP can clarify.

OP includes some test ratings so I'm inclined to believe it's a better quality product than the Selby one though.

        • yes, Dream-cast is dreaming

This overpriced audiophile stuff will not fly on ozbargain. Needs to be reduced to more than 37%.

First link on the internet that I could find https://www.selby.com.au/4-pack-fibreglass-acoustic-treatmen…

    x4 panels 900x300 mm for $154.

But a true ozbargainer should get something like that:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/earthwool-14kg-m-50mm-x-600mm-x-…

holy cow lol even DeBeers are disgusted by the margins on these

  • A moderator updated the title incorrectly. We do not offer $37 delivery on this product. This is explicitly outlined in the product description and in this post.

  • I like how everyone posts all sorts of products except something that is comparable.

Not saying this is cheap or a good product but OP has posted info backing the product's quality. Would be good to see something comparable if possible. Because acoustic material or wall insulation that's also not rated or tested isn't the same.

You're the one claiming the product posted is different to this: https://www.selby.com.au/4-pack-fibreglass-acoustic-treatmen…

      Explain how.

      • Again, OP has description of the product being independently tested and rated. The data sheet also shows compliance with various ISO standards. I'm pretty sure I can find $100 acoustic material that claims to do it all. Would this be comparable to one that has data backing it?

This is just acoustic panels. No nano particles or virgin unicorns involved. Will work just any other similar panel. The feature of these overpriced ones is just design (3d patterns).

  • How does this compare with stapling mattresses to the walls after scouring the streets for free mattresses being put out for hard rubbish collection? Made from no less than 100% recycled materials

    • +1

Not funny if it was supposed to be a joke. If you are serious apart from being stinky used matress occupies space, does little in terms of sound insulation.

      • don’t knock it until you’ve tried it

        • I tried that mattress on your wall. But it was horizontal at the time. So was your missus.

    • Pretty well

100% polyester fibre (PET), 55% recycled material, made in NZ/AU and with a 1st world chemical safety profile

This is an elite product more suited to OzHighYield but good on the OP for having a go

  • guys, these are acoustic tiles, they're good for reducing echos in a conference room or hall space. If you need sound proofing, these are not it, go get yourself some mass loaded vinyl.

a true ozbargainer would use egg cartons

    • free range only

  • How many of these would you need? 6x575m^2 is only 2 square metres.

    It's this 1 pack of 6 or 6 packs of 6?
