    Damn, right in the nostalgia.

Wish something like this happened in Sydney.

    • +4

Just a short drive down to Melbourne :P

    • Sydney gets MORE than enough stuff, try WA.

      • +2

WA always had good LANs. WALan, RFlan etc.

Problem is now adays they acnt get enough volunteers, and the people running it now have kids and life, and not enough young blood to take over.

@wintersnow911: I challenge OzBargain to sell more tickets than we can manage.

        • Is it all you can eat?

          • +5

@Viospeed: Yes! I mean until we run out. But yes.

            • @Jabob: I'm an eating machine.

              • +2

@Viospeed: Do your worst. We can take it.

@Jabob: This is the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising since my suit against the film The Neverending Story.

              • @ChickenDinner123: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?

      • +2

Used to be jolt cola if you were hardcore

        • Drank silly amounts of jolt cola over the years..

      • You got me at Mountain Dew

Don't forget to turn on network discovery and share those folders!

      DC++

Not sure if anyone uses that anymore. But it used to be the standard for LANs

      • +2

Damn, you just unlocked some memories.

        • +1

Same, 3 kids later.. Man I wish I could go to this but I'd be the oldest there

          • +2

@BanannaMan: You'd be surprised. We had a guy in his 60s last time.

      • Having to hash your stuff sucked for LANs.

      • +1

Tested Apex dc++ just yesterday.. only one public aussie server as far as i saw but heaps overseas.

        Quite a lot being shared!

      • +1

I didn't have proper internet until I was at university, so LANs and DC++ were how I managed to get my movie/tv collection at the time. Oh the nostalgia!

  • Are the tournaments broadcast anywhere for people not in Vic to watch?

  • How about casual viewing? Do you charge?

Don’t really game much these days but would be

good to stop by and check out the event.

    • +1

As we provide food and a whole bunch of side events, we do ask everyone that comes along to purchase at least the cheaper ticket.

      • Casual viewing would be assumed to be the AFK ticket imo, go support em :P

        • Correct!

I wish I could come, its been forever since I've been to a LAN party. Hope it goes amazingly for you all!

  • Can’t go this time but I’m hoping for the next.

  • No brood war and third strike? I must be too old

  • +4

I knew my Antec Lanboy case would come in handy one day.

  • Get ready to be in hall full of sweaty gamers.

Welcome back to the early 2000s

    • Oh god, the smell just came flooding back to me

Conflicting vaccination information: at the top of the page it says "This is a drug and alcohol free event and all attendee are required to be fully vaccinated", and at the bottom it says "In line with the updated restrictions set by the Victorian government 22/04/22 we no longer require proof of vaccination"

    • +1

Thanks for catching that. We'll get it updated.

  • +2

Quake 3 team arena or bust.

  • I got all excited, it's been nearly 20 years since I was at a LAN event! I might have to wait until next year, my eldest is a mad gamer and I'd love him to come and experience a real LAN, sadly he's only 17 so it rules us out or I'd be there :(

As an aide, your snack bar seems to be missing boxes of heavily caffeinated mints. Cant have a LAN without those ;)

  • Can I pay to come and play some console games without bringing a console?

    • Sorry for the late reply. Yeah absolutely! We'll have consoles, racing simulations and VR available. No need to bring anything.

  • No fighters (eg tekken or doa) or cod of any sort?? :(

  • Dam just seen this,.. so how was it everyone? 😳
