PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Boost offers 3G and 4G services on the Telstra Network. Outside of 4G coverage areas, your device will automatically switch to 3G and speeds will be less. For a complete list of included calls and destinations go to boost.com.au/international

Service provided by Telstra Corporation Ltd ABN 33 051 775 556.

For full consumer advice including Critical Information Summaries, Privacy Policy, and Fair Play Policy please visit the Boost Mobile website.

If you are already on Boost, you CAN NOT port your existing number to this sim card.

This is a brand new Boost sim card.

PORTING YOUR OWN EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:
You can request porting your own number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting your number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact same details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you an SMS to authorize the porting request, so make sure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected. Telstra users need to contact Boost first before porting their number.

We tend to ship out the item the one business day, if the purchase is made Mon-Fri, by Australia Post.

  • i might start talking if it hits 140$

  • thought someone mentioned you can get contact boost to apply the credit onto your existing boost service even if its not a recharge coupon?

    • I've done it a few times. You have to call, play dumb, wait forever as the operator goes through hoops and loops to do it, and still sorta cross fingers and hope for the best. Not worth it; port in and out with a $6 Lebara sim instead.

      • What. I've done it 6 times, every time (except one that bugged but worked out in our favour), its been 10 minutes on chat and done

Important to note that 5G access is only available until September, as it’s a trial for Boost members. Then it reverts back to 3G/4G.

    • Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know the 5G was a trial only. Will seek cheaper option like Coles mobile.

    • +1

Wouldn't bother with 5g unless you're wanting this as a mobile hotspot for work, etc and need super fast download from a specific 5g enabled location. It's flaky as heck and offers no upside at the moment. Personally find Telstra's 4g coverage better than the others, and that's more important to me then brute speed in woefully few locales.

      • +1

Echoing you comment on 5g usage. During my nearly two years daily usage with Telstra 5G I never once needed it. There only time I wanted to have 5G was to show a speed test result to a friend. 4G is more than enough for most people.

  • Is there any reason to use this over the Woolworths plans? $180 for 160gb, but you get 10% off a shop once per month, i.e. if you shop at woolies you'll make the entire plan back in savings.

    • +3

You will get better reception in some areas with Boost plus International calls

  • Esim?

    • Boost mobile esim will be able on 1st week of September

      • Does that mean it will be available for watches with esim too?

        • not sure
you can ask boost mobile customer service staff

      • Where did you get this from? Looked it up the other week and all I could find was no info yet.

Any idea if we will be able to switch to an esim if we have an existing sim?

        • I was chatted with boost customer service on website, the staff was told me that.

          • @Dennis95: Well would be great if it is ready and I can move over, heading to Singapore late Sep and would love to have Boost on an esim so I can buy a local sim without having to swap over.

Has anyone had experience using Wifi calling whilst overseas using Boost mobile? Does it work receiving calls to your Australian number?

    • +1

Yes it works and so does messages. Very handy to recieve OTP

      • @bargainHunterOz, can you please elaborate on how it work for messages?

      • I thought most telcos allow you to receive sms (without charge) overseas even without wifi calling

  • Can someone share insights please - if I were already with Boost, is there an efficient way of recharging with the new discounted packs without losing my number?

    • +4

      Hi,
You have to port out to any other telco provider and then you can port back in again to Boost.
      Just in more detail.
1-Get any other telco sim except boost.
2- Activate that sim moving/porting your existing number to that sim.
3- Buy this Boost sim and on activation, you can bring your number back or port back in again to Boost.
      Thanks

      • Awesome. Thank you. It's very clear.

  • Any deals for the $150 kit?

    • +1

150$ have been phased out for some time. This is now your new 150$ kit

  • +1

Any notable difference reception wise between boost and full Telstra prepaid? I seem to make a lot of calls routed as VoLTE, and don't use international dialing.

Currently on Telstra prepaid 12months. Thinking of switching to this to save $70/year. More than ample data for us.

  • if I am with Telstra - can I port to boost?

    • i think so

  • Hi,
    Yes, you can.
    Thanks

  • Sorry how much is the bonus data and is it going to be added on top of the 140GB data? Isn’t the default data allowance is 140GB?

    • Hi,
Standard data on this sim is 100GB Bonus data is 40GB if activated before 26-09-2022.
      Thanks

      • Thank for clarifying

        • All good.

  • Seems like the voucher code expired.

  • @oztechtraders - is the coupon supposed to still be active?

  • Hi,
    It's all good now.
    Thanks

  • +2

Just placed an order - including shipping charges 155.99

  • Thanks for that.

  • Apologies in advance if this is obvious, but can I confirm that the 140GB is databank of some form and rolls over for the full 365 days; rather then a monthly cap of ~11gb? Thanks

    • You can use all 140GB anytime in the 365 days. 1GB per month then 129 in the last month if you wish

  • Thank you all is good.
Customers get 140 Gb of data that can be used in a day in a week or in a month or a year. There is no cap or restrictions on how much data you can use in a month etc.
    Hope this information will help.
    Thanks

  • Hi all,
I will recommend when posting to have "tracking".
I recently had a issue with Oz Tech Biz where my post was not delivered (i.e., I did not receive my SIM) but on Australia Post, the SIM status was "delivered".
I went through AMEX as well as paypal and as a result of the SIM being activated by someone, my chargeback was reversed.
I am now going to contact AFCA about this but just thought I should give a heads up.
    Thanks

  • Thank you for your feedback.
We always use tracking delivery that's the reason Aus post could confirm the delivery of your sim card. If the Aus post has confirmed that the delivery was completed successfully then we have to rely on their delivery confirmation.
You should have contacted Boost with the sim serial we provided to you. The invoice is available with the serial number of the sim you purchased.
Boost could have helped you to block the sim and make an alternative arrangement. Just for your information, we send the sim card ready to be activated, and it's not under the customer's name until they activate the sim card with their valid id details.
Signature delivery is always there with extra charge though
    Thank you
