Digital Display for Office / Instead of Whiteboard

Looking for a cheap and low-power display for the office so I can show a dashboard of current projects from our project management tool or Google Sheets etc.

So I knew the best place to come to ask would be Ozbargain for some advice.

Currently have a whiteboard we update based on the digital dashboard, but want to make the presence more physical in the office easier to update online, out of the office and remote work etc.

I can't justify the price of something like a Google Jam Board or Vibe All in One ($3413) yet, but maybe in the future or second hand..

https://www.amazon.com.au/Vibe-Interactive-Whiteboard-Confer…

Probably looking at a 32" to 43" display size-wise for a small part of the wall. Not fused on size.

Slim unit/slim wall mount would be more desirable than size.

Needs to be compatible with a Mac Mini M1 for input or Google Playstore tablet app compatible (Clickup / Googlesheets mainly).

Touchscreen would be amazing but guessing it's out of my maximum price of $1500 with the touch feature, doubt anything decent exists…

Anyway anyone got any ideas, recommendations or suggestions?

i vaguely recall some old teachers getting some kind of projector which was also touchscreen, or at least able to record inputs that were drawn on the "screen", not sure how that worked exactly, you could look into one of those and just do it all on a computer

If you like tinkering around computer, try Xibo. It doesn't have mac client but I manage to run the client and server on old linux laptop that output to 55" TV.

Xibo allows you to embed HTML /image / etc. If you can figure out auto-login / auto-export of the project page then you should be able to display it.

easier to update online, out of the office and remote work etc.

I'd pull chat software status ( ie teams / google chat status ) using their APIs and put it on display. Staff can easily update their status with added benefit of status automation since chat software status generally have tight integration with calendar / phone.

Get one of those Aldi TV. They all have HDMI ports, can plug to either existing Mac or PC, or get a raspberry pi

At work, I set up an old LED tv and a raspberry pi and run Screenly (free version). It can be remotely operated to display lots of information and it can cycle through pages, or be set to show certain information at certain times.

It wouldn’t do touch screen, but you could use a remote screen to write something then throw it up on the main screen.

  • Wow great responses, love the Ozbargain community, liking the Aldi TV idea or Screenly will explore more.
