    They're all scum. They prey on the financially illiterate and charge exorbitant fees to those who can least afford to service them.

  Payday loan companies are not scum.

  They offer a niche service to a sector of the market unable to obtain credit via the usual channels.

  As long as the interest rates and fees are written in the PDS and made available to the applicant I have no problems with the applicant paying those fees.

    The amount of advertising they do to people outside of their niche market is enough for me to put them in tbe SCUM bucket.

    As long as the interest rates and fees are written in the PDS and made available to the applicant I have no problems with the applicant paying those fees.

    My point is that the people who can understand the terms, fees, interest for payday loans are not typically the ones who take these out.

    The ones who take these loans out are those who think the service is essentially "free" and it's just pay that I am already entitled to, just getting it earlier! (At least that's how they target their advertisements.)
