  • Make money?

    • I think OP is saying if you sign up for one month with cashback then cancel you make money, but not sure what the Ts&Cs are with the cashback

      • +1

One month notice to leave from what I've been hearing

      • Oh, got ya.

CashRewards shows as "estimated 95 days to complete"

        • +1

Doesn't matter if 95 days or 995, unless CR's TnCs mention clearly how long a customer should stick with extel.

One month should be enough by the looks of it.

CR's store rep should clear this up.

          • +2

@IpGem: Only here for the comments, looks like your comment had effect!

Effective 05/07/22, Exetel customers purchasing via Cashrewards must remain connected to the purchased nbn plan for at least 3 months in order to have cashback approved. Cancellations prior will have cashback declined.

  • Are they comparable to Aussie BB in terms of speed and reliability?

    • +4

They are owned by Superloop, which is trying to race to the bottom of worst RSP….. if there anything like SL… I can be amazing or painful depending on how much CVC is there

      • Hmm keen to give it a crack. Wonder if they do Opticomm

        • Ok answering my own question. Apparently mine is considered Fast Fibre and not nbn. @tightarse can you confirm if I'd be eligible?

      • +3

Whilst i agree with the downward trend sentiment, there are a lot worse out. Im in Sydney and been with Superloop close to 4 years on and off (HFC) and whilst there have been a few issues half were related to international links (such as cogentco), its been 99% fine, and we're heavy users of non-cached content and do game. In all that time maybe twice i suspect CVC might of caused an issue. If others are different… glad im not on them.

        • Yeah works well till it does not, then it’s painful as hell.

There are a lot of over pop POi with limited CVC tho, so if you get a good one they are good.

      • +1

Whilst they are owned by Superloop, they do run seperate networks and only use Superloop for backhaul - Exetel manage their own capacity and CVC, and from what I’ve seen, they do it very well (am a customer.)

    • +6

I’ve had 0 issues on exetel for the last 5 months after switching from ABB.

    • +3

Signed up last night on 100/20
Ran a speed test now getting 90mbps

  • It's per month for 6 months so you aren't making money. Would've been nice if it was 6 months for the price of 1 with $110 cashback though ;D

    • Yeah but what if you cancel after first month?

      • +2

Cancel before. They require a 30 day cancellation notice.

        • Really dumb move by superloop for customers who churn

          • @kehuehue: Do superloop also have a 30 day notice period for cancellations?

            • @MrBillions: No, I called them two weeks before moving to OVO.

        • +1

          This is so painful

  • What are the pricing? I am with More NBN 50/20 pay about $53

    • +6

      $53.95 for 50/20. Only for 6 months.

      • +11

An idiot negging me for answering that question. Lmao.

        • +5

          You triggered their fragility. :D

        • -2

          Uh oh, 13 idiots.

    • I was considering switching to More NBN. Any feedback on More NBN?

      • +8

        Yeah you'll get Less $110 Cashback…

        • +4

          Ba dum tish

      • No issues for me on nbn fttp. They accidentally put me on 250/100 for a few months before they fixed it back to 250/25. Speedtest is always 250-260ish as nbn overprivisions a small allowance.

Edit: 30% off for two years as commbank customer. I think it’s only 12months now.

      • Good value with CBA offer if you're happy to BYO device and not prioritise customer service. I was thinking of doing Exetel for 6 months and then churning back to More to take advantage of the 12 mth/$53m offer

    • How is it? I saw they have 12month special for commbank members

  • Estimated cashback approval up to 95 days. How much money you are looking to make?

  • +4

from what i read cashback is available only for 100/20
    100/20Mbps – $69.95/mth for first 6 months (nbn)

    • @tightarse could you please confirm ?
      I'm after 100/40?

      • +1

I'm also interested to know - does the order have to be submitted before expiry tomorrow or does the service have to be activated before expiry tomorrow?

I'd like to submit an order now for activation in a week

        • +1

          bout Exetel

Exetel is an award-winning provider of nbn™, fibre broadband, mobile and business telco services. Plus they offer free activation, no lock-in contract and free Home Secure parental control and cyber security trial with all residential nbn orders.

im just ordering now at bottom of page it says on ALL and cashrewards popup on firefox says activated

edit i did 100/40 and my cashrewards is $110 pending now

    • +2

Looks fine to me for any new residential NBN customer, regardless of speed.

I signed up on the 50/20 and got cash back tracked immediately fwiw

  • +3

how far forward can you schedule the service connection for?

  • I wonder can you get the $110 twice if you have two locations

    • +1

If you have two different accounts why not?

  • +2

Hmm signed up last night without the cash back. Grr

    • yea signed up a week ago and didn't realise there's a cashback deal..

    • I did the same and going to cancel and do it again

    • +1

there's a cooling off period just cancel & do it again with cb

  • +1

Do you still get cash back if you sign up by tomorrow but have the connection turned on later?

    • +1

      Should work

      • Would like to know, want to activate in 27 days.

        • Should work. You can enter a future date.

  • Ran out of words to have $100 CR CB in title and we have a new deal for this then.

  • +1

Just joined them last week. Pity

  • -1

Nothing for existing customer of 5 years? Duh!
    It’s time to move on.
Any good deal from other ISPs?

    • The more offer above?

    • +1

nothing for loyalty these days. Churning is the best option for us.

  • Been with them 15 years or so, have found uptime pleasing. Have never recommended them to family or friends who I feel aren't capable of solving their own issues as customer support very average.

ABB's customer support on the other hand was so good when I helped family move to them I ended up buying shares in them based on it.

    • I've been with them for 6 years. Only a few minor downtimes overnight that I can recall. It's been mostly ok.
Never had to use customer support since I installed it. Customer support is only on 08:30-22:00 mon-sat
I'm on 50/20 nbn, getting 41/15 on google speed test, 38/18 on speedtest.net

  • Can you choose a date in advance? Need something after the $2 Telstra deal

    • +3

I just signed up as my $2 Telstra deal is ending. You can select what date you want it to activate. It doesn't say anything in the T's and C's about delayed activations so I assume it would work but can't confirm it.

    • Yes, I signed up with a connection date of next month

      • Lol I was 30 Min too late 😢

  • +1

Cashrewards website doesn't mention anything about how long a new customer needs to be with exetel to earn the cashback.
Presumably, one month should be enough to get the $110 cashback, if you want to make money out of it, join their lowest fare plan > serve them same day cancellation notice > argue with CR if the cashback isn't honoured > post on ozb > find another better deal > move on

  • can you time the connection start? eg. signup today and service not to start till 28 july?
i still have 28days with superloop

    • +1

I did exactly this last night with this deal can choose activation date

  • +1

good cashback, but then you're on exetel :vomit:

    • so excetel no good? not recommend?

    • +2

I reckon if I was to switch from Mate it would be an upgrade ;-)

  • +2

These asshats sent my bill to a debt collection agency.

    Was like $34

    • +7

Why didn't you pay on time?

      • +1

        I did. Nice assumption though.

        Total due 16/7 = $0

Then got a notification on the same day 16/7 and no explanation $34.83

        Cancelled 24/6.

        Absolutely bizarre.

I paid it, told them I paid it and they still won't go away.

        • Sounds like circles mobile to me

        • +2

Oh, sorry for assuming. Still glad I asked, since your description now is much more meaningful and a good warning to would-be customers. Thanks!

        • It sucks but from what you’re saying you haven’t accounted for the 30 cancellation period they tack on from some stupid reason.

          • +1

            @Fancydancer: Requested cancellation 20/5.

            Gave plenty of notice.

Cancellation request received by Exetel: 21-05-2020

Date your service will be cancelled: 20-06-2020

Last billing day of your monthly access charge: 20-06-2020

    • I have a similar bad experience, except with their mobile phone service. Usually when you don't pay a mobile phone bill, you cannot make calls but can still receive calls. I don't know why but a similar non payment rendered my service unable to even receive calls! Fine, ok. I do the payment but they have since shifted from optus to telstra, and my sim still doesn't work. I spend 1 hr explaining this to offshore tech support and they haven't got a clue- they tell me to restart my phone. Eventually they agree to send me a new sim… it still doesn't work!! The phone is fine because I tested other sims in it. I still don't have a working service and they have sent me random $10 bills with pro-rated dates on them for a service I'm not even getting. There's perfectly legitimate reasons not to pay IMO. Very poor support. They were extremely quick to respond to my negative online review though..

  • Anyone know if you were with exetel say 3 months back, would you be able to get the CB?would that be classed as a new customer?

    • thanks OP

  • +2

Need @tightarse to confirm this deals conditions.

  • Thanks OP.
I've been with Telstra since the 90's (currently in my last month at $88 for 100/40 HFC) and was looking to churn away from them after a recent price rise ($110 for 100/20 - $22 more and they'll be halving my upload speed). Was gonna wait until the end of footy season (due to cheaper Kayo), but this deal means I'm happy to leave the Telstra immediately.

  • +1

are there any credit checks performed when sign up ?

    • Apparently so

  • +1

    Great deal thanks OP.

  • +3

Thanks OP signed up. Will activate after Telstra $1 a month deal expires end of the month.

  • +2

Confirming you can select a future activation date. That worked fine for me.

    • +1

Did u get any confirmation on that future date? I picked end of the month, but there's no mention of that date in the last pages, and when I created an account to check as per their email, the expected activation date is only saying: To be advised. I was sure I filled up with correct date and unchecked the asap box, but worry that they screw it up on their end
