M5 Master Steel Pipe Set, Inlet and Outlet for Aquariums $40 / $80 + Shipping @ M5 Aquatics

60

Hi Ozbargain Family,

We are at M5aquatics

We have always wanted to pursue Australian Design and Australian Product. However, due to recent cost increase in material, labour, freight and not having advantage in economy of scale, we are unable to produce or sell anymore unless we raise the RRP to 250% which we will still barely make a profit and the price becomes unreasonable and unaffordable.
Therefore, we would like to sell everything at Lost in order to clear out the stocks to close the business.
Thanks for everyone’s support

What is this device?
The device is commonly called inlet/outlet, intake/outlet, inflow/outflow and currently it is also called as Lily pipe which is referring to any piece of glassware or stainless steel that is hung over the aquarium tanks’ rim and attaches to canister filter inlet/outlet

What are the features?

The aspiration of the design is to resolve the costly and inefficient challenges aquarium hobbyist face to manage inlet/outlet. Moreover, the design also creates an ease of use and manage, interchangeable accessory attachments of different shapes and sizes, allows more convenience, directional adjustability, and lower entry cost for hobbyists.

tldr: it's an option to return filtered water to your fish tank that looks slightly nicer than other options. YMMV.

  • OP, just to give us an idea, whats the cost produce to produce something like this in Australia? I know whenever stainless steel is involved things are very exxie.

    • Got few quotes around Sydney area, just to produce ( welding, bending and some other stuff) would cost around $300 for a set (quote for 300 sets or more), let alone, boxes, foams and acrylic pipes holders.

  • Nice one, unfortunate that costs have run you down! If it was for 13mm hose I’d definitely grab some!

    • You can grab some for your future tanks, aquarium hobbyist will never stop at 1 tank 😆

For everyone, I would be cautious with any steel products, rust will kill fish.

That means that if these pipes get a scratch & start rusting, your fish will die.

Further more these use the cheap 304 stainless steel vs marine grade 314, these pipes which will rust 100%
