What about if I want to be comfortable everywhere else other than work or all those sports I play?

Looks like a Step One clone, which is itself just rebranded mass produced garments with a huge markup.

    https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Underwear-factory-cus…

Hah, it's even the exact same photos from this bulk order listing. Buy them for $4 each with added branding customisation and sell them for $30…

    No bargain.

Was about to say the same thing moment I saw this deal lol

    • Sure - but you need to buy at least 600…

Isn’t this how most non-locally made businesses work? They buy the goods from overseas and then sell with a markup.

(The reuse of the Alibaba photos is a bad look though)

You can buy this type on AliExpress too. Around 6 - 8 a pair. This is supposed to by Ozbargain, not dropship ripoff. Thanks for your research

I can never find them on AliExpress. Any tips?

        • I just searched mens bamboo underwear and found them. Most sell in a box of 6

      Hi Hybroid,

We can see why everyone goes to Alibaba and find a similar product.but, below are the facts no one knows of.

      1. There are two different Bamboo clothing. Certified Bamboo and Normal Bamboo. Certified Bamboo cost is almost double.
      2. ALibaba prices are in US$
      3. To get a low price like $4, you need to order minimum 2000 units
        • you need to Add Shipping to australlia, Warehouse, Custom Import Tax, Australia Post, Marketing, Packing, and Merchant fees. All add up to around $15 per underwear.
      4. We do not sell them for $30.

      Thank You.

      • What a liar. They sell for $17-24 on your website, depending on amount.

There is no way that $2-4 undies cost another $13 in taxes, shipping, fees etc. I contacted them and if I bought 6k the price would be about $2.5/each, all taxes inc.

Could you imagine… Hell, if you check the AliExpress company, they have recommendations from people in Australia whose names match some of the companies who advertise here.

So you're literally lying about prices while complimenting the manufacturer for cheap prices lol.

Oh God another one of these online-only bamboo underpants mobs?

Let me guess, if you buy two weeks worth of underpants all in one go, you get a bulk discount?

Your returns policy is in breach of the Australian Consumer Law

    • +3

If you are going to state this, then perhaps explain why.

      • No point in explaining - dcvr doesn't even understand Australian Consumer Law

ACCC state Return Policy is up to each seller.

        This store's Return Policy:
We will gladly issue a refund
for items returned within 30 days of the date you received your order.
        Item must be Unopened

No merchant wants your used undies!!

No breach of ACL as dcvr claims!

    • Hello misinformed!
That's what jv used to post. jv was wrong!

Australian Consumer Law covers Warranties (faulty goods) but not Returns (change of mind by consumer)!

Returns are covered by store specific Returns Policies.

(If you were sent the wrong size or product - contact the merchant if it was their error. That's under your consumer contract.)

      Read ACCC consumer rights
"Retailers don’t have to give you a refund or exchange if you simply change your mind. Always check the store’s returns policy."

      This stores returns policy:
We will gladly issue a refund
for items returned within 30 days of the date you received your order.
      Item must be Unopened

So nothing to be in breach of!

Few stores will accept Returns on underwear, except where you can prove it hasn't been worn (eg unopened packet).
They consider it a health & safety issue!!

No merchant wants your used undies!!

For example, bought the wrong size for my father, returned unused the next day to exchange. (There was no packaging.)
Told underwear returns are against store Returns policy for that major retailer.
Took some convincing - but as still had labels attached & was obviously unused, manager approved. But was told they didn't have to.

Have returned faulty expensive Merino wool undies - after months of use. Product was defective, so covered by ACL. Got an easy refund in store.

  • Yum, the panda would loves this…

  • This 'competition': https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/700965 was posted a few weeks ago for Lion Skin. I commented at the time that "this looks very much like a set of StepOne underwear with a different brand photoshopped over the top. Sizing chart is also exactly the same as StepOne website, even the format."
The fact that they are still photoshopping is probably a red flag, haha (the linked 'deal' page has some poor photoshops).
