Made in Switzerland, 20 yr warranty on the motor. Bit excessive for some, but they're well made and long lasting.

      • Yup. I bought a Swissline a decade ago, use it a couple times a week, still works like brand new.

    • My old Bamix was still working after 30 years. The only reason I replaced it was some of the plastic accessories had gone that aged plastic yellow colour.

The Bamix has a 20 year motor warranty.

It's a healthy blender though - very high in iron.

This is an excellent price, i thought $280 was good 6 months ago, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/674811

  • Damnit I paid $280 last week. Still haven’t gotten it - do Costco refund the difference?

  • Why would I use this over my blendtec?

I have a Vitamix, as well as a Bamix. The Bamix is good for small quantities of stuff, like whipped cream, grinding some dry spices, making curry pastes, etc. i, also, use it to grind up the spices that come with the Tailors curry packets; saves me getting out my mortar and pestle. I last used it for making some pesto sauce. I mixed it up in a container I could put a lid on to store it in the fridge. This minimised wastage and it makes a more aerated sauce; which I prefer. You can, also, blitz small quantities like a small onion, etc. The stick blenders also allow you to purée soups in the saucepan instead of pouring into the blender and pouring back.

I just find my Vitamix a tad unwieldy when I’m dealing with small quantities.
