The title is pretty much self explanatory.
Maybe you can get them cheaper from other platforms. But they are from Fjallraven official website.

Overpriced even with 40% off
Even after 40% off, they are still about 40% overpriced for what you get.
Holy crap this stuff is overpriced.
Define overpriced. Their quality is generally exceptional. My Greenland jacket is still going strong after almost 20 years, with just a few waxes in between. Their prices are reasonable compared to other high-end outdoor brands (e.g. North Face or Arc'teryx), and more affordable than 'outdoorsy lux,' e.g. Canada Goose.
too expensive; costing more than it is worth.
You've obviously never heard of the brand and think it's expensive; but 'worth' is subjective. I personally wouldn't buy one of the many popular $1000+ GPU deals here, but that doesn't mean it's overpriced. It's important to other people, if not for me. If you're satisfied with a $100 Kathmandu or Macpac, that's fine. IMO, paying $500-1000 for a BIFL jacket is 'worth it.' This isn't even an outrageous price relative to other comparable brands.
@SydStrand: Look at the price of the hats and tell me it's not overpriced lol. I don't think someone needs to spend ridiculous money for outdoors gear. I'm sorry but $1000 for a jacket is outrageous to the general person and the comparison to GPU deals doesn't make sense. Unless the jacket is specialised for some kind of industry or emergency service $1000 makes no sense. I would buy five $200 jackets before I bought $1000 jacket.

Yes it does. Spending $1000 on a graphics card is outrageous to the layperson. So is $1000 on Lego, $1000 on a road bike, $1000 on a watch, a handbag, a pair of nice shoes, etc. Just because YOU, personally, don't think it's worth it, doesn't mean it's 'overpriced.' And unless you're the High Lord Cheapskate, I guarantee that you've had at least one discretionary spend that I'd raise an eyebrow at. Newsflash: people prioritise their spending differently. IMO, a high quality $500 winter jacket that lasts a lifetime of ski trips, is better than half a dozen flimsier ones. Meanwhile, you're acting like this is a $1000 Supreme tee shirt.
@SydStrand: You're comparing extremely expensive clothes to graphics cards lol. You're comparing clothes to state-of-the-art technology and to my understanding you know nothing about the technology you're comparing clothing to. I'm no stranger to expensive clothing. Again you're comparing expensive clothing to specific Lego sets… A $300 GPU Will not provide the same performance but you can't say the same for a $300 jacket. I can back that up with science and data you can't. A jacket does not last a lifetime and I doubt you would convince most people it will. Maybe if you wear it three times a year and then claim it's amazing 20 years later
@Sammy Boi: Please don't try compare expensive clothing to a millennium falcon I know that's what you're getting at and again that's a stupid comparison.

Don't presume. You don't know what GPU I'm running. An RTX3090 outperforms a $300 GPU, but it doesn't make it worth it to the layperson. Price: performance ratio is also crap compared to an entry level card, but that doesn't mean it's overpriced, it just means they target different demographics with different price sensitivities. When you buy high quality gear, you pay not just for the brand, but the materials, and construction. Is it a linear performance gain per dollar? No, but nor is a GPU outside the sweet spot. People choose to pay extra for things they value, that's why it's called discretionary spending.
Also 'extremely expensive' lol. This is the ballpark that comparable brands like Arc'teryx, Patagonia, or North Face also charge for Everest-grade quality softshells. You're acting like this is a $5000 Moncler fashion jacket. Maybe get out of the bubble.

Clothing can 100% last a lifetime, without being babied. My Greenland jacket that was purchased in the early 2000s and comes out every winter, including snow holidays and even the Himalayas, and other than occasional re-waxing, is pristine, and the stitching is as solid as the day I bought it. My Schott is even older. A good pair of goodyear-welted boots will also last a lifetime, other than re-soling; meanwhile, my Macpac loses feathers each time I unpack it in winter. If you're used to tatty clothes and hypebeast gear, I guess it's easy to believe that all clothing is disposable.
Here is the thing, 20 years ago. Everything that made more than 10/15 years ago has better quality. My Sharp microwave lasted 15 years, sweater from target 15 years, 50l storage container nearly 15 years from reject shop so much thicker material compared to flimsy rubbish they are selling right now.
I doubt the new jacket will last as long as the one you bought 20 years ago.I've got Nike clothing and champion clothing from over 15 years ago and I definitely agree.
I can tell you one thing a lifetime depends on the individual and the activities you can spend $1000 on a jacket and destroy it unintentionally in plenty of different ways when you're outdoors.
If you don't like you could just go Fjall yourself?
