  • Amazing - remember times when modem alone would cost $100. Now for $29 you get modem, data and the iTunes card. They must be subsidising the crap out of it!

    • Do we know if modem is compatible with their 850Mhz network? It's pretty useless if it's not.

      • Yep, I rang one of their shops - it's a K3771 which is 850MHz-compatible (850/2100 UMTS). Good value with the iTunes card.

  • The Goodguys and officeworks both had the 3gb usb stick for $14.50 last weekend. Now both back at $20 matching Woolies price.

  • These deals are great and the effective price of wireless broadband becomes effectively zero, if you can sell the modem on eBay for enough, which is often possible.

For $1 more, you could take advantage of two other deals posted on OZB to get an extra iTunes card. The HN offer earlier today 2x $20 cards for $20, and the $10 Vodafone modem with 3GB data, but this DSE deal is still a good buy, much better value than a few years ago.

Telstra's kicking the pants out of the competitors unfortunately.
I hate Telstra… a lot. But even I went to dark side recently and got mobile broadband with them :(.
    Havent looked back.

9.5 downloads, 1.5 uploads, and a ping of 36…. that beats the crap out of my old adsl2 connection that required land line rental then ISP usage on top. And I'm not in a 4G service area (regional outskirts of Canberra). In 4G area, my connection speeds triple.

Optus, Vodafail, etc… doesnt matter who you pick, none of them have faster connection speeds than Telstra. Trust me, I looked long and hard for a Telstra alternative. For top notch mobile broadband, there isnt one :(.

  • Does anyone know how many days expiry the 3GB is? Cheers :o)

    • 30 day expiry, check the DSE link.
