Just successfully upgraded from FTTN to FTTP quickly and pain free. Just finishing a knock down rebuild - old home used to run the internet from the double brick home up to the granny flat 50m away via a power line extender.
Now we have FTTP I’m wondering if the current modem (Netcomm Wireless NF18ACV) will project up the back or will I need to buy some other piece of equipment.
Appreciate any advice you can give.
Thank you
Upgraded to FTTP from FTTN - equipment question to get the NBN up to the granny flat

I think 50m away is too far for wireless.
Either stay with the power line, or if possible, lay some cat6…
Depends on your budget
If wanting to stay wireless the Unifi M5 point to point wireless bridge is a perfect option for a 50m link. Doesn't require any special equipment or skills to setup and just an Ethernet cable into each end. Once setup you never have to touch it.
test, if powerline works for you then keep it
if you want to move away from powerline and don't want to/can't run wired, and you have line of sight, run two of these as a wireless bridge https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/networking/access-points… - lots of sellers apart from Scorptec, they are about $80-90 each
Netcomm Wireless NF18ACV
Honestly people have trouble getting this to reach their bedroom let alone a granny flat. You'll need an upgrade.
You paying for gigabit you should get gigabit. 60 meter of weatherproof ethernet cable, choose a colour that will blend in.
How much did it cost you to upgrade to FTTP and what was the process like?
$0
Painfree process
I received an email 26/05 from the NBN saying I may be eligible to upgrade. Contacted my provider - they started the ball rolling - all done and dusted by 24/06 (as per the predicted timeframe given).Wow that's amazing. Did they need to install different wiring in the street?
I know they ran in to some sort of cabling problem on the street but it was all sorted within a week.
It was so seamless - I am still in shock!
Why not continue to use the power line extender? What exists on the WAN side of your network (FTTP/FTTN) has no impact on what happens after the connection passes through your router.
As for the modem why not plug it in and see if there’s a signal at the granny flat? Only you know how many walls and obstructions are in the way.
