  Could one theocratically get the vehicle floor mount then take the top off and replace it with a 1 inch ball adapter from a different vendor (like quadlockcase)?

        The practical component is my specialty, not so much the spiritual (yet) - but I can assure you your idea will indeed work. The 1" diameter ball adapters from Quad Lock are compatible with the "B-Size" Components from RAM.

        B-Size refers to the RAM components with a 1" ball or socket.

    Hey, great question!
    Yes!
    The 1" Quad Lock Balls are compatible with all "B-Size (1")" RAM Products. The reason Quad Lock developed the Ball Adapters were so they could connect to the RAM Mount catalog.

    So essentially, the 1" Quad Lock Ball Adapter Products can be connected to the "B-Size" products from RAM, such as the floor Mounts.
