    Pretty awful reviews regarding quality!

Don't be too hasty - Sterling Archer approves…

Despite the marketing, these are definitely not good enough for you to "play like the professionals".

The bats don't make mention of what rubbers are used, the thickness and hardness of the sponges, etc.

These will be fine for the the casual hit with mates when you have a beer in one hand and the bat in the other. They are certainly not worth the price.

    • It DOES mention what rubbers are used, "Joola Vizon". They are not popular though, in fact it is missing from revspin.net: https://revspin.net/rubber/joola/
Agree they are not good rubbers, but 1 sheet of good rubber cost AUD $120+ (Butterfly Dignics) so cannot ask for too much.

      • Guess I missed it. Just re-read it and it says "Vizon pads" so don't think it occurred to me.

That being said, and I know it's subjective, but I don't think you need to spend that much for a "good" rubber.

Butterfly rubbers are expensive and while they are great, I much prefer Andro/Donic rubbers that have a much better cost/performance ratio. I've played with Butterfly rubbers in the past (mainly from the Tenergy line) and yes it's great, but the cost is quite high, especially when you play competition and change rubbers after every season or two.

      • just use chinese rubber.

  • Why do you need 6 covers? 😉

      It's in pieces.

You probably need to assemble it yourself.

      • +1

According to the reviews re-assembly may be required after use!

  • I prefer double fish

    • +2

Double Happiness is more popular, including but not limit to rubbers, blades, tables or balls ;)

  • Does the set come with a table?

  • I play professionally and like you might have already discovered, these are good just for a fun but not if you aim for more…

Don't worry about the spell police, how about call the sentence police after your reply "these are good just for a fun" - lol.

    • For something cheap but reasonable, a YinHe blade for around 20-30 delivered, like the N9 (think Stratus clone) or YinHe Earth (Acoustic clone with good dwell time and control). Pair with Some friendship 999 rubbers 10 each, or Hurricane 3 for 20 each.

      • You forgot about people who have never glued rubber onto a blade - also needed to purchase table tennis rubber glue.
For players at beginner level, the tackiness of friendship / hurricane rubbers does more harm than good.

    • I could take you on, i have tricky spin shots

  • Plastic bats = best for casual play. Unpredictable, no spinning nonsense, smash only.
