  • Been looking for a new Quilt and trying to work out which one is best… I was looking at a 'wool' one as it apparently breaths well but I read Bamboo does as well…

This is one I was looking at if others are interested although I've not purchased one as yet… still looking around and open to suggestions:
Australian Made Merino Wool Quilt / Doona / Duvet 500GSM (240x210cm King) - $88 delivered
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Australian-Merino-Quilt-Doona-210x…

    Machine washable version:
Australian Made Washable Merino Wool Quilt/Doona/Duvet 500GSM All Season - $91
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Australian-Washable-Merino-500GSM-…

    • On ebay is cheaper. I boought a wool 700GSM one for $77.

  • I like the idea of bamboo, natural sustainable.

Still using an old duck-down one (which i wouldn't buy again these days). Very warm sometimes too much so, pretty light.
Mainly wouldn't mind a king quilt for QS bed .

  • Picked up today a Single and will see how we go. They have pretty much 60% off everything. My wife picked some covers etc up as well. They feel great.

  • Bamboo good for an all seasons quilt, or too warm?

    • +1

Apparently good for all seasons - here a good guide.

Ecoy was the other company I considered. Have a special as well.

      • That sounds alright, cheers.
Down quilts etc are too warm for most of the year so come off completely and just have a waffle type blanket. Something a bit more substantial all year be alright

      • It sounds like you did some research, is it fair to assume most of the bamboo quilts on ebay would be average quality (for around $60-100)? Even a slightly warmer night like last night meant it was a bit hot for down quilt (with the place closed up), something more breathable would be alright so still considering these. Guess paypal is the way to go and test it out. Just dont believe RRPs like with the sheridan outlet prices but the sales is on for a few more days.

        Cheers

  • How's the quilt - is it too warm for all year round?
Their 300gsm ones are sold out. It seems like 340-360gsm would be about perfect for an all rounder, or could just get this and another light (cheap) summer one later (or don't run any in the quilt cover. ta
