    Maybe my car is old and different but how does suction work on a dashboard? Are they smooth these days (mine is faux-leather-ish and I can't see a suction cup working on it)?

    Also I use Armourall on it and I can't see that helping :)

      Yeah no idea. Maybe certain models/brands have shiny plastic dashes? Wouldn’t work in my car

      You can usually get a plastic coaster thing that attaches to your dash via 3m tape. Gives the suction cups a smooth surface to suck on

      i have a cheap phone holder from ebay, and the suction cup has a layer of sticky gel that kinda fil the gap between the leather texture, works a treat, may be this is the same thing

  Paid 47$ at the beginning of this month. Have used the ESR vent mounted unit but the new Ute has vertical vents and they don’t work.
  This one was attached to the dash and hangs down in front of the vent. I position it so that it doesn’t pull also having a second point of contact but not fixed.

  Works great. I have a cable connect to it to provide the wireless charging and also have wireless airplay which is the dream. Get in place the iPhone on the mount and drive away.

  If you have vents that are vertical get this if you don’t I would prefer the vent mounted one.
