Is This a Good Pre-Built PC Deal?

I've just come across this: https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/joker-i7-i7-12700k-16gb-1tb-gen4… and was wondering if it's a decent deal?

I know BPC and Techfast do a lot of bargains here, but I am specifically looking for a 12700k and 3080/3080ti combo that is $3k or under. And this all fit the bill. I'm just unsure whether the parts are decent enough and don't have the time to do research. I am mostly going to use it for gaming, editing (photos and videos) and music production.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers

I have a much shittier system and works great for what you want it for. Although the ram I'd upgrade

    • Same…

      Another vote for shittier systems…

I built a system with almost identical specs and it came to $150 less. So whether or not you think it's worth paying $150 for them to build it for you is up to you.

*Edit: I didn't see that they included a Windows Licence for $150. So this build is about what you would expect to pay if you were to build it yourself and you wanted to buy Windows from a store rather than a cheap key online.

    • Thanks! I'll keep this in mind. The only reason I didn't want to built it myself is because it's time consuming to jump from one website to the next and then have to pay shipping costs which will most likely add up. I'm also not very confident in building it myself and don't wanna wreck anything knowing my luck

  • Are you after the k series CPU for the integrated graphics or the overclocking capability? Downside of this build is that the b series mobos can not over clock. If you aren't too worried about the integrated graphics I would check this out, imo it has a better mobo. https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/kp-ps-machorefresh-siren-…

BPC also usually has their nxt series for under 3k when they are in stock, worth keeping en eye out https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/kp-nzxt-3080-krakenpower-…

    • I will be honest, I don't really do overclocking nor have I ever tried. I just don't understand what it's supposed to do— well, I do understand kinda. I think I'm only going for the K series for the integrated graphics and the safety of it being future proof. I just need something that works well with Adobe products and I've had a look at reviews between this and the 5950x.

  • It's a good system for the price, especially when so many pre-made systems with 11th gen Intel or trying to move current Ryzen stuff before the new chips ship. Most websites you add the parts + $200 for a system so you won't get cheaper (although you will get better for slightly more dollars. That's about the slowest Gen4 ssd you can get, for example, plus 12GB 3080s are generally a fair bit faster than the 10GB ones).

Although I'm usually not one to suggest waiting, with new processors and GPUs from AMD/Intel/nVidia just a few short months away, is it the best time to drop $3k on a system?

Also, I'd consider dropping $100 more on this - https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/giantmini-i712700rtx3080-i7-1270… - if you have any interest in mini ITX. Much better power supply.

    • I thought about that too, I guess I just wanted one now for tax purposes. I'm also not looking at the new GPUs because I doubt I'm gonna be using my PC often considering I pretty much work part time. So I'm hoping maybe when they do release, things will be cheaper. One can only hope.

I do like the idea of a mini ITX. Just unsure of it because sometimes I like to add more storage and I'm scared it won't fit hahaha.
