15% cashback on Cheddar ATM too

    • Cheers added to description

    • I wonder if it would work with the discount code?

      • +2

@getcheddarapp can you confirm mate? If code is fair game I am dead set down to order a pair.

It does say promo codes not listed w/ cheddar are not eligible…

    • +2

Can anyone confirm that heyICONIC75 code works with Cheddar 15% cash back? Would bring price down to $340.85 which is very tempting 🤔

      • +1

Tracked for me $54.68, but pending.
"Just waiting for confirmation from the iconic that you did not make a cancellation, return or exchange " 🤷🏾‍♂️

        • Confirming the above. Just made the purchase too. First big shoe purchase. 😳

      • +2

        Rep said no above

  • credit to WHO? haha

    • Sorry, I only just saw the original post. bargainsgrabber pm'd me to post it instead since he reached his max number of deals. But I see you commented it first so updated description :)

      • not a problem :)

  • +4

Unfortunately, it doesn't look the Wide Fit (H) is available at this price.

    • +1

Fyi all RM Williams stores will exchange your purchase for different size same style.

      • +1

even if its purchased from the iconic?

        • +1

Yep. Have exchanged one pair in Sydney and about to do another again

          • +2

@aoeueoa: I have also done this, but i did have quite a bit of trouble and had to go around to 3 different stores to do this. So something to be mindful of.

      • Tried in Perth. Didn't work. Maybe because it was the kangaroo leather.

    • +1

And looks like they don't even stock the narrow fit (F)… Bit of a shame since this is one of the main draws for RMs for me, over something like e.g. Dr Martens.

      • +1

The only place I have seen them is at RM Williams shop.

        • Might just need to try the exchange at a store trick

  • wide fits not being on sale with iconic is a damn shame. got a 10 anyway for $401 - CR cashback and will try my luck at exchanging, thanks OP + other poster who shared without the code :)

  • there used to be a store in alice springs (online as well).. has that closed ? cant remember what it was called ? they stock RM's at really competitive prices too and all sizes ( I am a wide feet and never able to find the size on Iconic when discounted)

  • +6

    I won't go a dollar over 400

    • +3

well if you use cashback it falls below that ;)

  • +1

    Got 1, thanks OP

  • +1

When $400 for a pair of shoes is considered a bargain…

    • +31

For a pair of shoes made in Australia with premium materials and not slave labour.

      • -4

So instead of $5 to make it costs $30 to make, could still sell for $100 and be profitable……

        • +1

Whilst I do not speak for others, when your average footwear is made in factories with inferior workmanship and still sold for $100 or more. One has to ask, is the cheap footwear really worth it?

    • +11

Mine are 10 years old and I’m still wearing them. So far that’s $45 a year. Just make more money instead of complaining and you’ll be a better version of your current self.

      • +4

        Never resoled?

        • +3

No needed, it was in a glass trophy box for last 10 years :)

        • Had a dude in Redfern resole them when they weee purchased. I also have a second pair of brown craftsmen purchased in 2016 which I have never worn. By the way my original pair are going it may be sometime before they get used.

      • Some real Sam vimes shit

    • have you ever owned or even tried a pair?

    • full leather, made in Aus. Yes

    • +3

I mean…people pay 150 at tarocash or YD for goofy china made boots when in comparison 400 buys aussie made boots that last a long time. I've never spent more than 200 on a pair of shoes or boots but 400 is pretty good for a nice pair, especially local made.

    • -5

I think there is another factor here that we are not considering. There are industries, let's say consulting and PM, which their dress code revolves around expensive stuff. The group pressure and the chances of getting a promotion involve conformity to the herd. And they are high earners. At this price, definitely a bargain.

      • +6

lmao if you're working in a company where your chances of promotion are linked with how expensive your boots are I don't think that's a good company to work with in the first place

    • +1

from $595.00 to $401 is a good bargain, but I still won't pay that much on a pair of shoes lol

    • +2

I'm 54. I'm looking to buy a pair for occasional special use, going out and that sort of stuff every so often. I reckon I have another 30 years in me before I pop my clogs so that works out around $13 a year. Not bad value.

  • Gee no sale on wide fit? Talk about discrimination :(

    • +1

You know what they say about guys with wide feet?

      • +6

        They need wide shoes?

        • +4

Full price ones it looks like

  • +1

    Nice!

  • I remember getting sized as a 10G. Is the G regular, if H is wide?

    • +2

      Yes, G = Regular, H = Wide and F = Narrow.

    • +1

      Yes. F- Narrow. G - Regular. H - Wide.

      • David Jones size is stated 8 AU? Thinking this is G?

        • +1

          presumably

      • Thank you for putting them in alphabetical order, better than @xrnath

        • Not enough for an upvote I see…

  • +1

If you want the RMs but they don't have your size you can purchase any size online (from the iconic) and swap them in store without issue. As long as it's in perfect condition and still in store it's in their policy to exchange them.

    • +1

is this actually a thing? :O

      • Have a read of the last deal on these. Lots of people were able to do this. A few were unsuccessful but, apparently, they are meant to allow it.

    • +1

Wait legit? No need to show a receipt?

      • I'm not sure they "sell" their stock to stockists so you should be able to purchase anywhere and exchange it direct.
I had to exchange a belt for a different size at the start of the year, the Perth city store didn't have stock of the design and size I wanted so they looked up DJ's stock and arranged for me to go and pick it up there.

    • +5

I tried this and it didn’t work

      • lol thanks for saving me from the trouble

        • Come on, if I took one person's experience as a measure of what I can or can't do, I'd probably be on the rat race now with a massive debt over my head.

        • +2

Just exchanged for a smaller size today on George Street, Sydney store. They were quite polite about it but I was quite apologetic so that may have helped. Need the brand new shoes and the tax invoice/receipt and you're good to go. They even measured me up for correct sizing. Great experience in store.

      • I can’t imagine RM would allow given how much it would mess up their stock levels even if the boot is in perfect condition. Then again, what do I know about running a footwear company.

      • I think it depends on the sales person. I exchanged the RM shoe polish recently saying it was a gift and the lady gave me an evil look but exchanged it. I got it 30% off from iconic.
Although my size was F, I got a G from iconic and it fits nicely. I did get them to size me and bought a size smaller to allow the width difference. So I am thicker but shorter

    • +2

I can confirm this is possible, done it myself at RM Queen st. Also, as previously posted in the deal before, contact customer service through Facebook so you have a point that this can be done. No dramas at the store.

      • what do people even say? "hey i got these from the iconic" or do you lie and say you got it as a gift and don't know where it's from

        • +1

In theory it isn't meant to matter where you got them.

        • +1

No need to lie, they have a good tracking system and know immediately if you got them in store. Just contact customer service on Facebook, tell them of the possibility of changing them in-store, go to the store and tell them that you need a different number. They will even size your feet to get you the right number. Lovely customer service. If they refuse, show your conversation on Facebook.

        • +1

Last deal I told the store that I purchased from iconic and didn't have any issues exchanging size and also from leather soles to rubber soles. Although I've heard from others that they had difficulty - may depend on who you get on the day. Worst comes to worst, return to iconic for a refund.

        • interesting, thanks everyone! I've shot them a dm on insta to see what they'll say

          • @jno: Looks like their insta page said it's all good

    • +2

I bought last time and exchanged in-store. I reached out to them via email

      Thank you for contacting R.M.Williams.

Confirming our Retail stores are able to exchange our boots purchased through Stockists (such as The Iconic). You will need to provide your proof of purchase, and exchange within 60 days. Boots must be in new, unworn condition and exchanged in original box.

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

  • +5

If the site says "we've seen you before" change your phone number.

  • what's so special about these leather boots?

    • +4

They're the only boots I've owned for more than 10 years and they're still as comfy as ever, plus they're the only ones I've ever considered having resoled. Bottom line is they're more than just a pair of leather boots.

      • +1

Some people are buried with these suckers. Which seems like a terrible waste, but… last requests and all

        • +1

Heh - we made sure our Mum had some comfy slippers to ensure she kept her feet warm. ;-)

        • +5

Wow, thats crazy. Do you know where they're buried? I'd like to…uh…pay my respects

    • -1

      Come to the dark side

    • you might find this video insightful

      • Wow, that was quite interesting, well worth watching. Although, I honestly winced when he started cutting through the boots…

        • yeah, it does hurt to watch lol.

    • got myself a new pair of these for my wedding, about the same price as my suit >.<, had the previous pair for 12 years (and actually those have now been resoled and are my dailies again as i'm too much of a tightass to wear the new ones regularly for worry about wearing them out).

    • For starters, they're not made of plastic..

    • Made by aussie slave labour :)

  • -2

I’m usually US10 in Adidas, should I get the same sizing?

    • +2

probably not. i'd suggest getting your size measured in store if you can.

    • Im a US10.5 on Adidas, and I had to get an 8 for RM
