Crickets coming from the shower drain

So, for a while now I have had crickets appearing in my shower, sometimes I'll see a few within a couple of days, sometimes nothing for a 1-2 months.
I'm assuming they come from the drain (although I'm on the 2nd floor) because some seems too big to be coming from the extractor above the shower.
What's the best way to get rid of them ? should I just block all the drains in the bathroom and empty a can of bug spray in one of them ?

Hit them with a cricket bat

Pour boiling water down all of the drains whenever you see them.

How odd …… suggest checking with your neighbours as to whether their side hustle cricket farm is low on numbers

the drain's going to have an s-trap full of water. they might hide in there but they're not going to be coming in through there. maybe you are confusing them with candiru

    • Is there always an s-trap ? it looks to me like there isn't enough space to have one

    Was Buddy Holly with them?

  • Anyone near you keep snakes or reptiles or fish? Crickets make good feed, just the annoying types.

Hey LePhasme, I would suggest you tell less Dad Jokes in the shower…

  • Pour some Drain Cleaner.

  • Bowl them out

  • Try those drain unclogged crystals. If it can dissolve hair it should do some damage to them

  • Put some insect surface spray in the areas of the bathroom that you don’t touch and won’t get too wet. Hopefully if they die off before they breed it might get the problem under control. If you have a centre floor drain (ie in the bathroom not the shower one) put a few jugs of water down this to flush it out as sometimes this drain doesn’t see a lot of water flushing through to clear things out.
