      Do you consider your car insurance to be the same? For those who ride regularly on the road, this is definitely a bargain.

        Looks like injury and public liability insurance, some of which may be limited to events organised by BN. Doesn't include anything for the bike.

        Injury insurance might be ok for $65.50 a year though.

        A lot of the cover only seems to kick in for death or total permanent disablement

          It also covers any damage that you cause while on the bike IIRC (ie. you hit a car commuting and are otherwise uninsured)

    Think of this membership more as a donation towards Bicycle advocacy in major capital cities. There's not much immediate value, but they do use the resources towards pushing for Cyclist rights and infrastructure.

    Signed up for a year. Not sure if I'll get much value out of it but I take the point above that you can also justify it as a donation of sorts for advocacy. Which as a relatively new and keen cyclist I consider worthwhile.
