Samsung 635L Side by Side Frost Free Fridge SRS675DLS $1,317.81 Delivered ($1,275.30 with eBay Plus) @ Appliances Online eBay

PLUSHY7PLUSHY10

Great price given the capacity and that it comes with a plumbed ice/water dispenser. Costco appear to be the only other retailer selling this model albeit for $1719. The black version, the SRS673DMB, which is not plumbed is going for $1898.

For the price, you'd be looking at fridges in the 400L-500L range that are either in the bottom/top mount shape from the bigger brands or fridges from Haier/Hisense if you're after a similar style.

This fridge does have some mixed reviews, so do have a read before you buy.

If it's not available for delivery to your location, go through their website (the discount won't be available if you do) - this allowed me to get it delivered to Newcastle.
Also opted for the 3 Year Care Plan for Home for $130 bringing it to a total of five for peace of mind. Not sure if this is available if you're making the purchase through eBay.

Excludes _N2, _NT, _Q1, _Q2, _Q3, _Q4, _S2, _T1, _V2, _W2, _W3

I've had this fridge for just over a year, and am more than happy with it - some pros / cons:

    • Nice recessed handles
    • Big freezer
    • Big ice bucket
    • Fridge door open alarm has sound and flashing light
    • Single paddle for both water and ice dispensing

    • Shelves have a limited number of fixed positions

    • No light above drink / ice dispenser
    • No chilled drinks freezer timer

I would buy it if it is not Samsung fridge

      • +1

        yes i dislike samsung products

After staying with friends who had a samsung fridge, I thought I'd investigate their problems and there are class action lawsuits for this particular fault, and others.

Also had 2 Samsung TVs fail. 2 Samsung phones as well.

Hats off to those who have had no samsumg problems, but for me, too many burns.

@9839002: My Samsung 55" QLED TV is one of the finest things I've ever bought - its remote control is amazingly simple yet intuitively brilliant
My Mitsubishi fridge is also amazing

          • @9839002: Oh, forgot about the Samsung washing machine that what itself too. I think 5 or 6 years? Did a terrible job of washing clothes too.

          • @9839002: 2 x Samsung QLED's in my house, one would be 4 years old now, nil issues with either
1 x Samsung fridge, 1 washing machine, both a couple of years old, again nil issues.
Loads of phones over the years

Seem to hear a lot about their fridge issues but it was a better product than the competition for me at time of purchase and no regrets.
My dog chewed on my remote and a rabbit ate through my OneConnect cable once, CC sent both out very quickly and a replacement of each is included with the TV. Other than those positive experiences, never had to deal with their support but certainly can't complain.

I've had both my Samsung fridges for over 10+ years now, no issues whatsoever other than changing the water filter for the plumbed in water/ice dispenser.

Touch wood it stays that way.

Buyer beware, historically Samsung fridges have very bad reputation https://www.productreview.com.au

I had a bottom mount single door 450L Samsung fridge between 2010-2016, had some electronic/control problem that would cause fridge compressor and electronics to go to "sleep" after reaching desired temperature, without waking up ever again - only solution was to turn off and on again at the socket. Multiple unsuccessful repairs later by Samsung technicians I decided to plug fridge into a $10 timer from Bunnings that was turning fridge off and on every six hours. Samsung SSD, Monitor - YES! Samsung fridge or washing machine - HELL NO!!!

Not sure why you're negging a post due to an issue you had 12 years ago. I've reccomended for others and had 2 Samsung fridges in the last 10 years. Never had any issues, if I did, Samsung's customer service is great when it comes to getting stuff fixed.

      • +5

Glad you had a positive experience with Samsung customer service, myself and many others have found them absolutely atrocious, I’ll never buy another Samsung product

mate google "Samsung fridges and ice buildup".

prepare to be enlightened. You are welcome !

        Never again samsung POS !

Because I feel it is my civic/communal duty to warn others that this deal may not be a deal after all. Price difference to comparable LG (that have very favorable reviews on product review site), may be few hundred, let say $500 which is worth compared to hassle, stress, and wasted food when your fridge breaks down.

Feel free to ignore my neg, my opinion is that because something is cheap or discounted, does not mean it is a deal. Cheap turd is still a turd! I would be very peeved off if I bought some product based on OzBargain recommendation, while there were members who were aware that product is crap and stayed quiet about it.

      • +2

FTR: it was not 10 years ago, I had to deal with that crap for six years, five of those under extended warranty. I finally get rid of it six years ago. My parents used to have fridge that lasted 30+ years, in the end they threw it away because it was half eaten by rust, but still going strong wrt to cooling.

Was basically this price ($1273.50 delivered) on the last Appliances Online boxing day sale. Picked one up but took around 2 months to get delivered (guessing due to stock shortages).

Yeah its not a Mitsubishi fridge, but ridiculously good value. Can echo the same comments as above about it – we had gone from a 10 year old Simpson side-by-side to this and it just feels a little bit better quality (better handles, hinges, brighter internal light, door chime).

Only other negative would be the door bins aren’t adjustable and are particularly narrow for the bottom fridge one and both freezer ones. The rest of the fridge door bins are actually quite deep.

I have bad experiences with 2 Samsung fridges, both of them fail after 3 years with their heating element, causing the ice to build up and stop the fan. Something to do with their excess water design.

    • +2

Same here, icing problem. Sick of defrosting every second week.

  • +1

Very bad experience with the quality of Samsung fridge, didn't even last 5 years and that's with servicing and fixing. Decided to replace instead of constantly fixing it despite it being still like brand new (comment from the delivery guy who removed it)

  • Can you use the plumbed version without plumbing?
WOuld I just lose the water/ice functions?
Better alternative for similar without that?
    Thank You :)

    • Yep, that's basically it. You won't get ice/water without plumbing it but it will still function as a fridge.

  • Great fridge if ur looking for more freezer space, I personally prefer more fridge space and went with hisense which has a 3rd door that can be converted to fridge on demand.

    • are you sure you're brand rep?

      • I didn't ask for it, they just gave it to me 😔

  • Looking for a plumbed French door fridge about this size. Very hard to find, any recommendations?

    • Recently purchased a F&P.

      • Nice, what model mate?

  • +2

I have to agree with not buying because it's Samsung. Bought a new phone and they did not give what I ordered. After 10 emails, Facebook posts and phone calls they just said I was wrong and they were right. Worst customer service. Never buy Samsung.

  • +1

    What does plumbed mean?

Is it a bad thing or good thing

    • +2

It means that you need to connect the fridge to a water line to be able to use the ice/water dispenser. The non-plumbed versions include a tank where you manually fill with water.

  • +1

I bought this fridge a month ago as I was looking for something to replace a dead fridge. 1500 and plumbed. so far so good.

  • i paid more for a factory second, that is an awesome price

  • +3

not touching samsung fridge anymore. please invest on something else guys.

    • but investing on household appliances is my retirement strategy!

  • Can someone tell me if this fridge can be installed very close to the wall on the right-hand side? Is it possible/practical to access the fridge section with the RHS door half open, i.e. parallel to the wall?

    • +2

Yes and no. Can access the fridge but wont be able to open either of the drawers at the bottom - basically the door needs to be at >135 degrees open to slide out.

      • +2

You'll probably also find that it will have minimum clearances for ventilation - check the manual.
