Interesting graphic about the rising size of restaurant servings since the 1950's (Yank based research by the CDC)

Apparently the servcing sizes for soft drinks, hamburgers and fries have increased from 7 oz, 3.9 oz, and 2.4oz to 42 oz, 12oz, and 6.7 oz respectively. The average Yank is 26 pounds heavier. (Don't get on your high horse about fat yanks, Aussies are nipping on their heels in the obesity stakes.)

Think about that next time you polish off a whole Pizza Mia, or heaven forbid, a large pizza all by yourself.

OK.. so how come Wagon Wheels have shrunken?

  • weight gain doesn't necessarily mean binge eating.

1 kilo = 7700 Cal, so you only need to eat an extra 21 Cal per day in excess of what your body requires and you will pile on 1 kilo per year.

What's wrong with being fat anyway? It has many practical uses, who wouldn't want to build a parcel shelf out of their ass?
