Definitely, I played Witcher 3 first and had not issues following the story. However, there were a few confusions in the middle of the game with a few references to previous Gerald's quests, but it was totally fine.
The game is totally worth it, especially including the Blood and Wine expansion that could be a game on its on.
More or less. By mid-game you'll have a decent understanding and there are spoiler free resources available if you need help.
Try and complete all side-quests and contracts early on.
I'm waiting on an update before return to the game to complete the expansion packs (ray tracing etc)
Basically the main story in W3 is not related to the first two games. At some points you might want to read about them to understand why you are sleeping with some ladies and that is it.
I hadn't played the first 2 and just recently started this. But I did watch the Netflix series, so I've found that has helped with some of the lore and characters.
Yep, no worries. I have not played the first 2 games and there was no issue. They explain things well in the game.
Didn't play the first 2, but found this game to be absolutely stellar.

After buying this version, would be free upgrade for the remastered version later?
Yes
Is this easy enough to follow story and character-wise if I haven’t played the first two games?
