Again people keep complaining about not being able to get one. Why don't they just go to JBhifi and pay for it, wait for about 2 to 3 weeks for it to arrived? I only waited for 2 weeks for mine ..
I asked to be put onto a waitlist at JB and was told they do not do that any more.
There's no waitlist. You need to pay for it upfront. Not sure about now but I got mine about 6 months ago. Only waited for 2 weeks.
I went to JB in the city and they created an Order ID number for me to keep without paying anything.
It has been more than two months now and I went there again to check.
The employee grabbed a list and my name is on the next page. Glancing at the list, it looks like there is a lot of people waiting for PS5.

How many jbs did you go to? I went to five. Easy as. I got 3 all up for myself and family. I got my one on launch too.

Would you be happy with JB having your $750 for 6 months if the lock downs in China make supply chain issues even worse? Can it be refunded if they don't deliver on their estimate?
EB pre-orders are $200, with an estimated delivery time and full refund if you change your mind. That seems much better than "pay full price now and you'll get it when you get it".
@PainToad: Of course it can be refunded lol. Someone else just gets your spot. Yea, if I wanted it I would wait. If you want a new car you have to wait 6-12 months with a deposit down. It’s life champ. Decision wise it’s up to you if you go EB or JB. If you want to put that $550 on some short term gains to earn a few cents I guess you could.
You'll need to use something like distill monitor to still get a PS5 at this rate.
EB Games tends to last the longest when it comes to securing a PS5 online. It's either that or walking in to JB and asking for their waitlist.

Best way to get a console is to call a store and add yourself to a wait-list. I rang in March and had a console just over a month later.
