Philips Hue 9W White Bluetooth Globe $19.00 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ Bunnings

80

So, this one may be a bit of a hit and miss depending on if the link works at certain times. I've tried maybe 20 times throughout today and it seems to go to the "We've hit a snag!" Page about 30% of the time. At the time of posting the links is working for me.

This morning I was googling once again for a deal on e27 Bluetooth Philips hue bulbs (white). It appears that Amazon may have had a listing recently at this price according to 3camels (it says current price is $19.00 but is OOS on the listing). I am unsure but assuming EITHER Bunnings has price matched OR they are also clearing them to make space for the newer model.

I can confirm that 2 stores in SA (Marion and Parafield) had stock as of this afternoon as I called them and enquired.

Additionally, due to my laziness I actually managed to price match at JB Hi-Fi while I was out at a shopping centre… But… I'm pretty sure I lucked out and they actually price matched with their newer version so YMMV with trying that…

If the Bunnings link shops working, here is a screenshot of the page on my phone: https://imgur.com/a/MX4wHxn

Best of luck!

Note for people unfamiliar with Philips Hue, this is the version where you just need to download the Philips Hue Bluetooth app and your phone to control it directly, no bridge etc required.
PSA: only has on/off and brightness adjustment

They still work with Hue bridge too.

  • Got a whole bunch of the white ambience ones for $14.99 last month from Kogan.

They also had starter kits with 2 globes for $39.99

    • +1

$14.99 is a very good price. I'm satisfied with $18 knowing I have a 2 year local warranty from JB, not that I think I'll need it.

These were the ambience ones, so you can change from cool white to warm white as well as dimming…

        • +1

I wish that deal was still available as these are unfortunately only 2700k warm white…

@Jayblesz: I couldn't post it at the time as I was in the sin bin…

I think it was a clear out of the non-bluetooth versions… I got a stack of Hue downlights too…

Worth while checking out their page occasionally for these clearance sales.

knowing I have a 2 year local warranty from JB

Kogan is a Philips Hue partner and also offer a 2 year warranty.

        • +2

yeah just pop down to your local kogan store and swap it over, easy!

            @[Deactivated]: Australian stock, Philips warranty.

But sure, pay $54 for the ambience at JB instead of $14, for the peace of mind… easy!

            • @jv: unless you have a time machine i can borrow paying $14 isn’t an option

            • @jv: I've had terrible experiences with Kogan trying to claim warranty on products in the past - a bit of research on the web shows that my experience matches others.

I also had problems claiming warranty with Philips last year on one of their light strips. They didn't have stock to offer a replacement, and it was going to be 3 months until they did have stock. In the end they told me to go back to the retailer and exchange it at point of sale. Being that this was in COVID times, that was problematic.

Anyway, if you combine Kogan's well known lack of service after sale, and Philips questionable service, if I had purchased from Kogan, I would have been SOL.

                $14 vs $54.

If you want to pay 300% more for peace of mind, that is your choice.

    • My local Officeworks has them on clearance for $10

  • Any deals for their coloured version?

    • If you don't need too many, the Kasa ones are pretty good and a lot cheaper…

    • Unsure if you have a Target nearby, but they were clearing out the coloured ambiance starter kits for $75 near me last week (West Lakes in SA).

  • both i/n 0175997 and 0176003 showing in stock and $19 at my local, not sure of the difference?

    • looks like 0175997 is “white ambiance” or “ambient” as the bunnings description says, shows up in powerpass app can’t find it on the website

      • The ambiance ones are better if you find them for the same price.

You can change the color temperature.

  • What's the lumens on this? I'm hoping it is the higher lumens as the color light version lumen is far too low
