Food Delivery Box Cancelled My Account/Order, Delivered Anyway

TLDR : Food delivery box service cancelled my account, sent the box to me anyway

So I had a free box code for one of those Meal box kits (Hellofresh, Marleyspoon etc), set it up to be delivered to a new address, just paid $9.99 for shipping.

The next day they cancelled my account and refunded me the shipping, go into the dashboard which said my account was cancelled and my 'last box' was the day set before my delivery date. No biggie, assumed box cancelled so did a grocery shop, cancelled my paypal subscription. Today, got a text saying the box was delivered.

Now since they were the ones that cancelled my account, am I liable for this box they sent out? Dont mind paying the $9.99 that I initially ordered for but not for the full price of the box.

    I wouldn't imagine they'd make you pay, seeing as you cancelled it and they "accidentally" delivered it
    Worst case scenario they can come and pick the box up - unlikely

    I recall reading comments here that where the delivery involves food items then they don't make you return it if it was delivered in error??

    I had this happen with MS. They cancelled but still delivered. Never heard from them again.

    As above, with health concerns it would be just a system error or admin error and it wouldn’t make sense for them to retrieve it or the cost

    Thanks everyone, had the chicken last night, no point letting food go to waste. Think if they do try come after me I'll just offer to pay the $9.99 and ignore everything else.

      Nope, you tell them you never received any box, maybe it was stolen.. who knows.

        Yes you did not keep a look out as it was not scheduled to arrive.
