Fuel wise, probably not far off 20ltr/per100
I’d be more concerned over the cost they would sting you for exceeding the maximum kilometres it can be used.
120-150lt diesel 800-1000kms @ 2.10p/l approximately $252-$315 fuel cost
One way fees can be a little expensive
Thanks yeh was gonna drive it back hmm
Consider looking at a backload run.
Return rental is going to add up… $500/$750(2/3days base rental) $600+ in fuel $200 in excess km charges 16hrs+ driving(easy but boring)
Moving from melb to sydney
Congrats and welcome, a few points to note:
But..
Yeah, Melbourne is an easy life, Sydney you will love & hate at the same time.
I would work it out on km/l like a real truck driver would, as it would be easier to calculate over a journey.
You will get about 5km/litre. Maybe less if it is fully loaded, but we can work on this figure.
Most of these small trucks have a 100litre fuel tank, or about 500ish km per tank. So, Sydney is going to be around 2 tanks of fuel, or about 200 litres of fuel. Diesel is about $2/litre. So, I would allow $400+ for just fuel alone.
