How do they validate this anyway? Somehow linked to your gleam account, or can you follow them after you win?
Depending on the company, it can range from that to nothing.
Some shadier companies will only choose winners from those that can be confirmed as Followers before the competition's end.
It's poor form imo and super unfair, especially if you like to segregate your various accounts and social media pages, so I stay away from any companies that do it.
