  • is it 100hz

      this TV is 50hz

  • +1

In your title it only says hd, while on you're site it says full hd.

    • +1

We've fixed that up now, it's FULL HD.

How is that a saving of $402? No-name 40" LCD TVs regularly go for $350-450. Sanyo is arguably a better brand and can be had for this price. http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE6304/sanyo-40-quot-full-hd…

Hisense have an odd warranty too. For example: If your set fails, it will not be replaced with a new one, even if it's one week old. It will only be replaced with a "refurbished" one. (we've fitted dozens in banks, so I know)

banks have so little money they have only afford Z grade no name panels???

yeah you'd be INSANE to have paid $800 for a crappy panel like this

i'm sure that Hisense policy won't fly if you called up Fair Trading and complained… this is the mark of a crappy company who will try stuff on unsuspecting customers

Hi Bazzaa- This particular model (HL40V78P) retails at $799 R.R.P

We are selling it for $397 which is a saving of $402.

The Hisense In-home replacement warranty offers:

      -Priority replacement*
-They deliver, replace, unpack and set-up*
      -7 day customer support Hotline

      • +1

CORRECTION R.R.P is $799, not: Retails at $799.

      • it's not a SAVING of $402 since it doesn't get sold at that price

        stop trying to scam people.

    GOOD PRICE

    • Thanks, we think so too!

  • not as good as Aldi's $350 for 39" TV.
    1" difference is nothing.

it's made in German and I can refund the TV in 30 days if I don't like it

    • Can I buy an Aldi one today?

      • It was there on Saturday when I went, if you can find one still with stock, then yes.

    • Made in Germany? Really? I struggle to believe that, given no TV brand is made in Germany.

Plus Aldi is a 90 day refund.

These were $399 at JB before they were EOL'ed
Can still buy at the good guys for ~ $400 to $450

    • Yes, the price for this model is cheaper than the competitors were (They were EOL'ed ages ago… So this is no surprise).
    • No, this price isn't the greatest when compared to better spec'ed 40" TVs for sale at the moment
    • No, this was never sold at the RRP $799 (claiming it 'retailed for $799' is a lie. The RRP is this amount, it was never sold at that price point!)
  • Not a good deal. its only 50hz and not a very good panel.

Hi BluBoy, the quoted recommended retail price of $799 is not a lie as you suggested.
If you visit the Hisense website (http://hisense.com.au/products/television/detailed/type/34/1…) you will see that the R.R.P is in fact $799.

The recommended retail price is determined by the manufacturer, not the retailer.

    • +6

Hi Insane Deals… Please read my post again.
I'm aware that the manufacturers RRP is $799. I am not doubting this, it is clearly listed on the manufacturers website.

However, the TV was never sold for this amount. When you claim it 'retailed' for $799 this is simply not true. No retailer ever attempted to sell the TV for this price. I assume you intend to continue to promote that the RRP of this TV is $799, if so, I would request that you edit your post to say that the RRP is $799. There is a significant difference between the manufacturers RRP and the actual 'retail' price.

BluBoy - Thanks for the feedback. I've updated the post accordingly.

    • so? YOU are the one telling us that we're "SAVING" $402.

  • +1

The savings are definitely over-inflated. You would never buy these panels for the RRP. You may be saving maybe $50 from the lowest market price but even that may be easily bargained at top retailers. Plus its only an LCD and 50 Hz. There are definitely better bargains to be had.

  • As soon as I see 'Insane Deal' I think HN or rugs :)

  • +1

Not a deal- you get a neg because "save $402" is pretty deceptive.

    • -6

Sorry, have to disagree there. You ARE saving $402 off the R.R.P of this product.

      • +3

AGAIN! Show us where this tv has ever SOLD for $799. OZBers know RRP is a load of sh!t

      • that is NOT a saving if it never gets sold at that price

neg for false savings quoted, neg for false deal, neg for B.S from rep

  • +3

Me not likey this post, or the rep.

I suggest you stay around the site a bit longer before posting another deal, learn how it works.

  • +1

Not a good deal for a 50hz yumcha 40" LCD. Neg for the over the top salepitch.

    • I'll bear that in mind when next I'm watching an event at the Yumcha arena…..

  • Ohh oh and now been caught by the ever alert mods for sock puppeting. Should of just taken my advice to stick around a while, watch and learn before getting a bad reputation.
